Well, bought my first ford, 1964 Galaxie 500 in1970. Bought a ton of them since. Explorer, Expedition, Van, Mustang, Pinto, you name it.... Latest was the 2018 F150, bought new. I just came back from the RAM dealer and traded my F150 for a RAM 1500. This is not the right forum for a complaint list, and really my list was very small. But from the engine that would stop at every light to killing the 5.4 V8, to pricing themselves out of the market, I finally went to the dark side. Super happy with the RAM. Quiet, powerful. Love the 5.7 hemi. I think I would have paid a few more bucks to stay with Ford, except the V8 was a non-starter. I had an expedition (built on a F150 frame) with 5.4 for 15 years and almost 200K miles. It was awesome. I'm old school and don't ever want a turbo in a truck, and 5.0L is just too small. Its fine in my Mustang... I tried pricing out an acceptable F150 and it was thousands more and I still didn't like the engine. Looking forward to the RAM increased towing capacity, better ride and plusher, more roomy interior and decent monthly payment. My son and inlaws made the same decision. I think Ford discontinuing cars to concentrate on trucks is a very risky move. Esp if people like myself start turning away from the trucks. Not wanting to start a debate, just sharing my disappointment.
Most people who get into a new (or newer) vehicle are pretty excited and they join a forum to say "......and so far I LOVE it".
You said the same thing just now about the RAM you purchased. I'm happy to hear that, seriously.
With that said, chances are that when you first picked up the 2018, you said "......and so far I love it".
I have a hard time believing that withing the first few weeks you said "......meh, it's just another ole vehicle".
The point is....you came to learn you weren't happy with the Ford. So what. While you may never dislike the RAM, remember it is possible that once you become used to it you may also find that it isn't 'perfect in every way'.

More roomy? That's the main reason i buy Fords. Im 6ft7in 330lbs, hence the screen name. The rest of my family drives rams, dad, brothers, brother in laws, all of them. I have to break my neck to get my head through the door and my head bangs off the ceiling on rough roads lol. I think my f150 has a better towing capacity than my dad's hemi too. They love them tho, so to each their own.
Ford getting out of cars is another story. Us fighting over our brands is just temporary amusement to Ford. They are spanning down cars. Down the line? They are fixing to appoint themselves a transportation service. Think about how great that will be.
Lol, obviously a troll post. Your complaining about a smaller 5.0, that mops the floor against the hemi unladden or towing, and still gets better mpg. I have two neighbors with a Limited and Longhorn Ram. 93 octane in my Platinum with 3.55s = bye bye Ram merging onto I95. Hell at PBIR for fun the Hemis get bitch slapped. But your logic is the 5.7 is better b/c the 5.0 is too small....u wut?!? And towing. My biggest complaint with Ram is the engine needing a serious updating. It's fine, and more than enough.... If you never driven the 3rd Gen 5.0, or GM 6.2
Only thing I liked about the Ram was the cooled rear seats. We only get heated, even at Platinum level.

Good luck with your new ride. The Rams are nice trucks, but I never considered them because their powertrains are as old and out of date as the Tundra's and I'm not convinced this new interior will hold up any better than the previous 3 generations. My father in law has a 97 Dodge Ram with the Cummins. It has 600k miles currently and runs great. Of course, he's replaced the transmission 3 times, the rear end 4 times, the entire dash once, and the newer one is starting to fall apart, amongst many other parts. But it's 23 years old and still runs, so that's a positive. Ford is the only truck maker that has powertrains designed after 2010 and their trucks hold up over time.
Are they perfect? Not by a long shot, but I've had great luck with every Ford truck I've ever had, definitely less issues than previously owned Dodges and GMs. Plus, I don't care what they're in, turbos are just plain fun! Seriously, I hope you enjoy your new ride, everybody has their own tastes, and as long as your happy with what you used your hard earned cash on, that's all that matters.

I love the responses and read them all. So kewl. I admit I am old and old schooI. I hope Ford continues to do well with the truck strategy. I hope when next I buy a truck it will again be a Ford. I love the blue oval. I average about 15 years per vehicle. Explorer was 13, Expedition was 16. However, I may not outlive this RAM. I wish all of you the best. Peace and fair winds.
