I just bought a new 2017 F150 Platinum. I have Sync 3 ver 2.0. Anyone know what comes with the update to version 2.2? Worth it?

I thought that might have been the problem. It was NTFS and I changed it to Fat32 before trying it. I'm not sure I've ever used exfat for anything, or that my computer could format it that way.

I picked up a thumb drive for $10.

I'm still having some trouble. The update seemed to have applied, but it didn't save that file that Ford wants uploaded to their site.

I just logged in and checked. Mine says v2.2 is available.

The traffic feature is the best upgrade for me. Mine didn't work at all beforehand. I can't recall the other improvements.

What's included in this update?
HN1T-14G381-SA SYNC3 v2.2
This software release is the latest update in our continued efforts to improve system performance, device connectivity, and the overall SYNC experience.

This software contains the following enhancements:

Updated voice recognition engine.
Navigation user interface improvements (if equipped).
Android Auto™ for supported devices.
Apple CarPlay™ for supported devices. Owners of 2016 models with SYNC 3 are required to perform a software update and purchase a hardware upgrade through your dealer.
The installation of this update will take up to 60 minutes to complete. DO NOT remove your USB drive or turn off your vehicle. You must wait until Installation Complete is displayed on the center screen before removing your drive or turning your vehicle off.

Be sure your vehicle engine is running (not in accessory mode) throughout the entire installation process. Although your vehicle must be in park when you initiate the installation process, once the download process has begun, you may drive your vehicle.

My 2016 XLT tells me it has v2.0. Apparently Android Auto was a part of v2.2. I know I'm getting old and stupid but I know I got Android Auto working a month or two ago. I just checked my settings and turned on automatic updates but since I'm not usually at a good wifi signal I clicked search for updates. It's been hung up on that for 15 or 20 minutes.

Those files are compressed, it's much more than 2GB once it all unpacks.
