When will Sync 3 software update be available for my 2016 F-150 that has version 1.0 I keep being told there is an Apple issue in the software but Android is okay. I have an Android phone, not Apple, so why later software versions be released? I would like the Android Auto app in my truck. Speaking of which, is the latest software version 2.0?

That depends on who you ask. There are those who have already updated to 2.2. I'm running 2.0 and ford.owner says I'm current. I've read posts on another forum indicating that they have received the 2.2 via wifi. I'm still waiting for mine to recognize the update. My main concern is the traffic feature. Mine doesn't work at all.

AFTER UPDATE IS COMPLETE... SHUT TRUCK OFF FOR 10 MINUTES AND DO NOT TOUCH IT... Sync 3 APIM needs to do some behind the scenes update maintenance for a successful update.

 

I just updated mine this morning to v.2.2 via USB drive. Took about 10 mintues for it to update.

 

They're available now on Ford owner website. v2.2.

If my Ford Owner website doesn't show I can update (it shows I am up to date with v2.0) should I have the dealer update it or just wait for the website to update?

 

I used the link that was posted. I never could get the owner website to show an update. I copied the extracted files to a USB. Once inserted in the truck it took about 15 minutes to download. All is well now. Traffic data is now there.

 

Dang it...I'm finally able to get it from Ford and I have to dig up a 2gig thumb drive. I haven't used those things in years, since we can't use them at work.

Portable hard drive didn't work.
