2 Gb? I am downloading from the Ford website right now. It says I need a minimum 32 Gb thumb drive.

Where do you find it on the Ford owner web site? I see nothing about downloading files on the site.

You're right, it's 1.7gb or so compressed. I slapped it on an external drive, so I didn't even look at the uncompressed size.

Login. Scroll down to "Updates and Offers for May 2017" The first box on the left says "Update Sync". Click on the blue button that says "Get Started" and it'll take you to the next window. Then it says in orange "Software update v2.2 is available." Select "Begin SYNC update". And so on and so on.

I think they say 32GB drive or greater due to the non nav trucks and their lesser amount of NAND in their APIMs. I used 16GB cheap drive for my nav and it worked fine to go from the previous release of 2.2 to the newer build that is officially released more broadly than it was with previous release.

Thanks for the heads up. Just finished my update. I went directly from 1.0 or 1.1,whatever it was to the 2.2. Maybe 15-20 minutes total. My phone didn't need to be re-paired. The only thing I needed to do was reset the display to night mode. I hate that bright baby blue for the daytime setting.
I guess I'll get the Android auto app on my phone and see what it's all about.

True. I saved files to my desktop and the non-nav version was around 2 gb.

I have a 16 Lariat with the Sync 3 V 1.1 with nav and was able to download to a 8 GB thumb drive. I have an unzip program, so it unzipped the files and if I rember correctly it was 7.67 GB worth of data. It took me about 15 minutes to download, but it was not until I got out of the truck and went back a few hours later and stated up my truck that it finally showed the V2.2 even though it stated that the installation was completed.

Nice to find download links from directly from Ford. Did anyone happen to notice if the update from Ford included updated map data?
