Ouch looks very familiar, hope he is ok. The adjuster said there were several issues with mine, airbags going off, frame and rear end, and the problems rebuilding with aluminum, last comment was interesting.....truck is off to the auction. Now the task of going through the search for a new F150. I am A Plan through my father in law so it makes that part a bit easier. Saw lots of 2016's on screaming deals, but I like the 2017's new motor trans combo. A bit off topic as I am in Ottawa for work and there is a dealership here that has over 100 customized new F150's. You pick the truck, they have graphics, Fuel wheels, your choice of tires, MBRP exhaust, lift kits and away you go. What an awesome concept, truly like being a kid in a candy store.

This is something ANYONE that buys a brand new vehicle should have. Yeah it costs a bit more but if in the unfortunate event such as this that something happens you'll be very glad you have it.

I have a similar policy on my truck, if it gets written off within the first 5 years I get either MSRP of a exact equipped truck of whatever that current model year is, or my truck replaced with same. Also if it gets hit and repaired in the first 3 years they have to use brand new factory parts, no chinese off brand or used sheetmetal.

The most important thing is that you're ok and it looks like the ordeal won't be too much of a headache for you.

That is exactly the same coverage I have on mine. Every year the price of premium goes up but that's worth it in my opinion. Second year it was 46 dollars for the year.

Go with the new eco and 10 spd, you will like it. Did that last month when my Tundra was totaled.

They actually replace frames all the time now.

Which dealership is this? I'm in Gatineau and I contacted several dealerships in Ottawa when I was shopping for my truck and I didn't see anything like this.

On another note, my friend got rear-ended earlier this week in his Tucson and there's only minor bumper damage. When he took his car to the shop he asked the guy what the cost was for the repair, the guy answered: depends, if it's out of pocket it's $1200, if it's through the insurance it's $2800.

No major insurance company would replace the frame of a vehicle after this type of accident.

It's easy for a new vehicle to end up being totaled for what we normally would think was a repairable accident. We had a Shaker/Scat pack challenger for a whole 12 days when someone backed into it at a Dunkin Donuts at about 5mph, hit right in drivers front tire. They started with a 8000 estimate, that's right 8k for a parking lot accident, by the time it was over it was a total, car had maybe 1,000 miles on it. Almost 60k car totalled in a parking lot. Wife drives an explorer now.
