Glad your OK man and glad the truck did its job. Guess you don't have to worry about any doors not working or freezing on you for a while now here in Ontario.
Hopefully new truck for you.

You would be amazed how much repairs cost. All you see are the doors and running boards. But the side airbags alone are at least 5 grand to replace. The there is the bent B-pillar that is a major structural component that may not be able to be repaired within safety guidelines. Then the time in the shop, paint, trim and the cost of the rental. Add in any costs of bringing it back for additional repairs and you are well over 20 grand. Cheaper and easier for the insurance company to write a check and get it over with.

A new frame would be a totaled vehicle.

No insurance company that`s worth anything would replace a fame on a vehicle that`s been in an accident.

Sorry to hear about the loss. The ruby was a looker! I am biased to special appearance package setups. I hope you get back into another ford truck soon!! Glad to hear you are ok !

It is an almost guarantee a total when the side airbags deploy. If the seat airbag deploys, you can most certainly assume a total as well. The entire headliner, and frame will need replacement, and if the steering wheel bag deployed, the column is replaced. That could easily reach 10K alone just in damage replacement from bags deploying.

With a busted rear axle, and the caved in side, you will WANT it totaled, it could never be the same again.

Thanks for everyone's input, I hope my insurance company steps up and does the right thing, and writes this off. The bed is bent as it busted my tonneau as well. The picture does not tell how violent the impact was, he hit me at 70-80 km/h as the witnesses said he never slowed down at all. The impact sent me another 100ft down the road. I don't know what the other driver was doing, as it was a long straight off ramp from a major highway. He is being charged from what I understand. this is how his front end looks....
