Sorry to hear. Had the same issue on my 2010 KR back in Dec. The 16 year old was turning from the median across my lane onto a side road. The truck was totaled after it was discovered the floor board was rippled. I now have a 16 KR as a replacement. I like the replacement but did not like the extra cash needed to get it.

You might want to go right to his insurance company since he was clearly at fault. If your truck was only 6 months old, they should step up and offer a direct replacement for it. Don't take no for an answer either, because they will only offer marked down private retail for yours.

The officer on scene said the other driver admitted it was his fault and they now take a video in the cruiser of your statement, for both drivers, so I should be ok on that front. I also have two witnesses that were following me that said he blew the red light as well. So the blame is clearly on him, I will want a new truck, there is no way they can make this truck the same as new.....

Ontario has no fault insurance. It is his own insurance that will be compensating him. Having the other driver at fault only means that it won't affect the OP'S insurance rates.

Well which ever company he deals with will need to step up, a 6 month old truck getting totaled should be replaced, not just paid off.

Default Glad you are okay

My son - now 20 - has totaled two F150s. A 2004 and a 2006. One his fault, one not. Both times he's walked away. Worst injury was six stitches in his elbow.

I love Ford F150s. My boy would be dead if they weren't so solid.

Why mix metric and imperial measurements?

Basically in Canada we measure speed in kph, liquids in liters, large distances in kms, small measurements in inches and feet, and weight in pounds (rather than kgs). Unofficially, clear as mud?

Classic armchair adjusting. "That'll buff out." It will not buff out.

Your truck is for sure totalled and you wouldn't want it any other way with that much damage. You should be getting 95% value on that unit if not full replacement. Don't let the insurance hustle you as they are prone to do.

I think the truck did a great job of protecting you in a direct 90 degree impact. Many vehicles on the road would not have fared so well.
