Even being careful, you could've hot the high pressure into a connector. It happens. So long as the alternator didn't fry some other elections it should be a simple fix.

And apparently a lot of these people have super strict service departments. Wow. With the flooding that has happened this year, i don't think a lot of trucks didn't see high water. Yall need to chill out.

Some good material in here. Granted my truck is a pavement princess that will never see a dirt road but learn from your mistake. Don't do that again

I wish I had that truck when I was 16!! I probably wouldn't have swamped it in a mud hole. I have done stupider things though... Getting my girlfriends best friend pregnant is up there near the top of my list. True story... As well as doing this racing a buddy, when I was 19. The best advise I can give a 16 year old guy? Don't street race, and always carry a rubber

It doesn't matter if mud is there. Millions of people drive down dirt roads , across muddy fields.

Hell they've even shown F-150 and the super duties going through muddy water. They'll have to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt this caused the problem.

The Ford test truck looks "bone stock" to me.
Just a heads up for those who say you shouldn't do that in a bone stock truck.

I do it in my bone stock truck to get down into the areas I hunt , minimum maintenance roads get way worse than that mud puddle.

What an enjoyable way to start a sunday cup of coffee, i went through all 11 pages! Classic!

Yep, like many on here, thank God there was no internet when i used to take my 2WD 86 ranger in places it had no business.

Granted, i paid for it (half i think) at 16, but whatever, there will always be parents who buy their kids ridiculous cars, not going to get too excited about it. My parents had the money BTW OP, much like many on here, our parents chose not to hand over expensive cars. I was pissed when I was 17 and had a 86 ranger and my dad had a loaded super duty and a 42' boat, but now i look back and go, oh i get it. lol.

With that, if I had that truck as a kid, and knew i was getting a freaking raptor, I'd probably be doing that same crap and have the same smug attitude at that age.

Enjoy your Sunday! Thanks for keeping us updated OP! Actually hope the news isn't too bad.

Hey Auston,
I am going to be 62 this year and back when I was your age, I did some things as well that I am not real proud of. We all learn from our mistakes and now as well as when you get older, you will as well. I think a lot of the others that have replied here do not understand why your parents would buy you at your age a very expensive truck. My family did not have a lot of money, however we did the best we could. We had a lot of love for each other though and that is really the most important thing. You parents really love you as well to buy you nice things. You are very blessed to have such wonderful parents.
My personal recommendation, is to be thankful for everything you have and take care of what you have. Even though you are getting a 17 Raptor as well, take care of it when you do get it and spend quality time with your parents and try to do, if you are not doing this already, kind things in return for your parents and family. Someday much later in life, when your parents have passed on, doing things together with them now be much more important than any material item that you may of been given.
Good luck on getting your truck fixed. Keep us all posted!
Phil

The unfortunate thing is that when you have very expensive things just given to you without earning them is that you don't really appreciate what you have.

A raptor is something that 99% of people can't pay cash for. I worked very hard to be able to pay cash for my 2016 King Ranch. Every time I get into it it means more to me than just an expensive toy. It represents a symbol of the years of hard work and sacrifice that goes into my truck. Owning things at such a young age just gives you a sense of entitlement and you will never appreciate what you have. It's always always best to WORK for what you have. It's better for you in the long run.

I don't blame the kid. If someone gave me a
Lamborghini at 16 I would have taken it! It's just very shortsighted

After reading most if not all the posts in this thread, some thoughts come to mind. One is that for those who answered the OP's question in a straight-forward manner, . 2nd, for those who choose to provide their opinions on the OP being so young with such an expensive vehicle provided by his parents, it shows there is a little narcissism in all of us as we all want to be heard and our opinions are the only correct ones. Hey, I'm guilty of it too.
