Because this truck was taken hub deep into muddy goop bone stock. It's not being used as designed, therefore warranty may be denied. He can take it into the mud if he wants, but not bone stock. Even a stock Raptor wouldn't have done much better in that crap he was in.

lol.

there's sure a difference from when I was a kid - when I was 18 my parents helped me buy an 86 f150 they paid for most of it. I took in wheeling and broke the transfer case - truck was under warranty. dad told me if I wanted it fixed I would have to buy the parts and fix it myself or he would take the truck to dealer for repairs and keep truck for himself. well 2 jobs and a good learning experience moral and mechanical. I fixed it my self, and that truck never saw mud again.

I thought these new fancy F150's were just street trucks only.

I used to that mudding thing when I was a kid also but I used a 1985 Toyota Truck it was built like a tank.

These new ones are just not built for that anymore.

LOL!!!

I think I figured out why it won't start. Guessing that you used the same diligence when washing under the hood as you did when you got it stuck in the mud.

It depends. I work at a Ford dealer. We get muddy trucks all the time. Guys work in construction, logging or just live on a dirt road. It's not a big deal if the truck is muddy underneath, we wouldn't decline a warranty repair for that. If I find muddy water in electronics, like I suspect will be the case here, pictures will be submitted to Ford and they will decide if they cover it or not.

My kid just turned 16. I bought her an old geo tracker with 200k miles from the auction for $400. To be honest if she did what this kid did to it, I would be pissed. I can't even begin to think what I would do if she had done that to a 50k truck.

I keep the truck running while washing and didn't spray in certain areas

You will never learn if you don't do stupid mistakes. Nobody was injured so, good job. Thanks for sharing your mistake. Not many people would dare to do that!

I was a math teacher for many years. Never had a student do 100%, 100% of the time. The smartest ones were not afraid to share their error, and they rarely made the same error twice.
