The Leveling Kit Thread
Just pulled the trigger on the Bilstein 6112 front/ 5100 rear kit from Shock Surplus. Will have them preset to 2" for a level. Once leveled, I will have a set of 285/70/18r Nitto Ridge Grapplers installed on my stock chrome 18's.
I have a 2017 XLT SCREW 4x4 w/ 2.7L EcoBoost for reference.

Also, can re-calibrating the speedometer for the tire increase be done using Forscan? I do not currently have a device, but would be interested in buying one to re-program myself if it is more cost effective then the dealer. Also, will this re-calibration communicate to change shifting to account for the larger tires? I know nothing about Forscan, so if it is easier to point me to a different thread, that would be greatly appreciated.
I am coming from a 2012 Tacoma. Really enjoyed it, but way less tech to it haha.

I believe you can adjust for tire size/speedo correction using FORScan. I use a Superchips FlashCal, but I've used FORScan in the past to enable my installation of a FoMoCo integrated trailer brakes controller.
Correcting your speedo readout should not change any shift map. If you want to do that you have other options, such as using Tow/Haul or Sport modes. If you're not towing, then use Sport mode. When using Sport, you can either leave your gear selector in Drive or you can use M (manual). Then of course you can purchase a tuner and a custom tune for your trans. I don't think it's entirely necessary, although I do wish my trans' shifts were firmer.
Congrats on the purchase of some Bilstein 6112s (and the 5100s for the rear - I am unaware of the differences between the 5100 rear shock and the 5160 as per any calibration. I only know the 5160 has an added fluid volume in the form of an external reservior).

I’ve looked several places but I want to make sure I’m correct..
I’m about to purchase the Bilstein 5100’s. I have lined up some Raptor wheels and tires (KO2’s) 315/70/R17 that I’m supposed to pick up tonight. Will these fit without rubbing once the truck is leveled?!
Edit: 2018 Lariat Fx4.

So I've been searching the facebook groups, custom offsets gallery, and here. I'm getting mixed reviews on whether a 2018 f150 sclb 4x4, 17x8.5 0 offset method nv, wrapped in 285/75/17 ridge grappler will rub or require me to remove the front crash bars on bilstein 5100s. Any input from anyone else who's ran the setup? I've spoken to a few guys who run the same tire, on icon compressions, and they clear fine. Mind you, they about +5mm difference in backspacing. I guess everything plays a huge role in clearance lol. Any input is appreciated, thanks!
Hey thanks for this, I have seen some of the other 2.5 inch lifts look higher than my bds. Absolutely sending me into a paranoid spiral..."did they not install the preload spacer". I am going to squeeze 35's and am making any excuse why they won't fit.
I'm ready to do my level now and I decided to go on the rancho quick cliffs fully assembled struts. And wouldn't you know it they're on backorder 4 to 6 weeks unknown availability I have called many places looked all over the website and cannot find them available anywhere
Doesdoes anyone have a lead on to where to get these I've already talked to stage three and four-wheel parts and they said four to six weeks.
I'm looking for front struts in the 2-in level area that are fully assembled ready to be installed I don't want to deal with taking my struts apart and doing it that way
