The Leveling Kit Thread
John, I haven't looked at your link, but I am posting to say "Thanks again!" to ghunt for the link. I just ordered two pair, so I might use three to get these springs compressed axially with my 6112. All I need now is a new locknut for the top nut, since one had been spun on and off a few times during the aborted attempt at assembly...

What do you guys think of this compressor?

Looks like a great value! although unlike using three screw-type compressors individually-placed and individually-adjusted, I don't know if that rig will pull down, then release the spring on axis with the shock...
That's what I'm afear'd of.

Also, if using an impact wrench, an impact swivel extension makes using these ones MUCH easier.
Copy that. Yes, I will have a look at any potential interference issues, thanks to your post. Too, I would never grab the very top coil, anyway, knowing that the top coil fits into the insulator.
I have swivel extensions and adaptors. They're much better that universal joints!
These wont' get here till next weekend.

I'm not afraid to admit, coil springs sorta scare me. I never worked with them before I began playing with these 150's, everything was leaf springs on both ends.
I was just thinking for the number of times I'd need a compressor, a hydraulic one like that may be the way to go. Might even be able to help out someone else at times. Wouldn't be using it in a professional setting by any means.

So I just realized I forgot to disconnect my negative battery cable when I installed my leveling kit. I did not strike the tie rod ends to remove them, they came right out on their own and were already disconnected when I removed the spindle (which I did have to hit with a hammer to break loose from the ball joint). I'm sure hoping I won't. Now I'm nervous.

Pretty sure you're fine. I never have unplugged the EPAS, or disconnected the battery. It's not a bad thing to do, I just never remembered, and I haven't had a problem yet, on two different trucks.
