Default Issues with Sync 3 and Spotify

I have had issues with my sync 3 apps ever since getting my truck but am just now really starting to look into it. I really only use Pandora and Spotify as far as the apps go and it's very hit or miss on whether or not they are available under my radio sources. Sometimes they are there, sometimes they are not, and sometimes there is a weird looking greyed logo with the name of the app as if it is saying "Pandora/Spotify is supposed to be listed here".

Moving on to the main issues with Spotify, I was going through some of my playlists today (on the computer) to get a good idea of how many songs are listed and in what order so that I could compare what I see in the truck. I opened Spotify under radio sources and chose "my playlists" under the menu button (this is also hit or miss on whether or not I have any options available, sometimes there is nothing listed under the menu button), anyway I chose one particular playlist that has 58 songs on it, and it starts with a random song from the list (they are not ordered the same way they are on my computer) but it only plays about 10 songs and then starts back over. I'm just wondering why when I use Spotify in the truck it's missing 50ish songs. It just really frustrates me since I waited to get a '16 specifically for Sync 3 and the ability to use apps like Spotify and Pandora through the head unit and it only half way works, half the time. Any one else having any of these issues? It also asks if I want to enable mobile apps every time I choose spotify. And I have tried updating but never seem to have any success with that either.

You're not alone. There is an older thread here somewhere with a bunch of sync 3 issues listed. This is definitely one of them.

I am in the same boat as you. Waited for Sync 3, got it, use Spotify daily and always have problems with the app - to the point that I just use the bluetooth option now and don't bother with the app.

I have tried using it on and off...sometimes the app screen won't load but the music will start playing. Other times the app icon is missing. Etc, etc...

The most annoying problem which is half*ss fixed now is the inability to skip tracks or go to previous tracks. You try the steering wheel, touch screen, or manual buttons and they don't do anything. I have the premium subscription as well.

I would then have to use my phone to skip the tracks. Very frustrating. I know its a first world problem, but would just be nice if these features worked.

Unfortunately, I'm seeing the exact same issues as you and have resorted to Bluetooth and no longer mess with the app.

When I first got the truck back in Feb, the app worked great. Flawless. Then there was either an update to the Sync Spotify app or the mobile app (or both) and it has been crap ever since.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the 2.0 update fixes these bugs.

Hey everyone!

Thanks for the feedback! There hasn't been an update to the SYNC 3's software quite yet. Any updates would've have been the actual app. A SYNC software update will be released by the end of the year. Keep an eye on the Owner site for details: https://owner.ford.com/tools/account...p-to-date.html

Yeah I forgot to mention I have this issue as well, along with whenever the first song (or maybe just any random song) finishes the next one will appear but will not play. I usually have to hit the play/pause button a couple times for it to start.

Definitely 1st world problems but still aggravating. I figured I could not be the only one with these issues, I was just curious if there was some sort of fix that someone figured out. Guess I will just go back to selecting bluetooth

So just some other issues to add to the pile. Yesterday I turned on Spotify and changed source to bluetooth, the track showed up on screen but would only play from the phone. Turned the radio off and disconnected reconnected phone (not sure which one fixed it, should've tried one at a time, oh well).
Then today selected bluetooth phone source again and started Spotify, current track showed playing on both radio screen and phone, but no sound at all. Didn't attempt to disconnect this time due to aggravation so just listened to the radio on my way to work. Hears to hoping these bugs get fixed soon

I have issues with Spotify with Sync 3 as well. Sometimes the app doesn't show up when I turn on the truck. I have to hit the Find Apps button and they'll all eventually load.

Once it does start working it will be ok until it decides it doesn't want me to skip to the next track. I have to pause the song that is playing then unpause it. For some reason that allows me to skip to the next song. Also, every once in awhile the picture of the CD cover will freeze. The songs will change, but the picture will stay the same.

It's gotten to the point where I don't even bother using Spotify in my truck. I only connect wirelessly to the system (that's the only way I know how to). The big update to Spotify really screwed it up.

Hi all-

Are you experiencing this issue with other apps? If so, I suggest trying a system reset: http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Fo...US_10_2015.pdf The instructions are on page 113. Let me know if this helps!

With AppLink, I am not able to see any of my apps unless I first open them on my phone...pretty clunky. That goes for all apps compatible with Sync 3. Is it supposed to be that way or is this yet another bug? I also have the same issues with Spotify not loading all of my songs.
