Default Thinking of new King Ranch

Has anyone gone from a generation 2.5 Toyota Tundra (2015-2021) to a new F150? Thinking about trading my 2015 LTD Tundra Crew Max that I've owned since new. I got the price on the 26 KR (600 package & FX4) down to $64.4k plus fees/taxes but still way off on my trade value. The Tundra has been exceptionally reliable and only has 82k interstate miles. Any pros & cons would be most appreciated.

I definitely wouldn’t go from the V8 Tundra to a King Ranch Powerboost or EcoBoost. Maybe a Lariat or Tremor with the 5.0 would be a more lateral move

I was a diehard pro Toyota/Honda man but in late 21, you couldn't find last gen Tundra's on the dealer lots due to model change over to the current disasterous generation. My only objection to your gen was the mpg. So I got a F150.

Retail value for the last gen Tundra is insanely good. At 82k, yours is just run in and I wouldn't be looking to trade it. My only annoyance with my truck are the constant recalls....

The hardest thing would be have a taste of the Ford technology and then going back to the Tundra. There is a lot of advancements for sure. Only you can make that choice if it's worth it.

I won't list the pros and cons. You and your friend "Google" can do a better job of that than me. Maybe a better question is "Why am I considering this "... I just inherited a pile of cash, bored with my current truck, need to scratch the new truck itch " ?

I just traded in my perfectly good, very low mileage 2019 XLT on a 2025 King ranch. There was no logical reason to do it.. I'm financially savy enough to know that...But for me, the reason was mostly to scratch the itch. I'm 67, figured this may be my last new truck, had the $'s to pay for it, did not sacrifice any other retirement life style changes etc to do it, so figured why not.

I'm guessing, maybe incorrectly, that you're not in the same situation. So maybe a better question is why...

Actually close to the same situation at 72 and no retirement worries. So like you have to decide why or why not. I see you have a second driver in a BMW x5 and ironically I picked up a 2023 4Runner Limited last year at an unbelievable low price that someone traded on a new x5 or x7 at my local BMW dealer. Still thinking it over but leaning no. Thanks

Yes. The M60i is the wife's car. She traded in her perfectly good (think it was a 2019 as well) Rav4 hybrid. Nice car. Toyota (Rav 4 anyways) does a nice job on the hybrid technology. The beemer was her itch to scratch 😀 . The thing is a rocket for any car.. let alone a SUV of moderate size. I get many smiles/miles driving that.

That's one car that if we keep past the 4 year warranty I'm getting the extended warranty... The V8 is pricey to repair.. even for a BMW

Since you own a 23 4Runner, go for it. If you didn't have the 4Runner, I would say no way.

Welcome to the forum. I would keep the Tundra unless you are having problems with it.
