Hi gopherman,

It's working as expected. You can find detailed instructions here: https://owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync-...d-applink.html

Do you have the Spotify issue with any other music app?

Spotify is downright unusable via the app, it's simply terrible.

I've found that Spotify through the A2DP connection is much easier to manage.

Agreed, it is more stable running Spotify via Bluetooth, however, I still run into issues where it won't skip tracks from time to time and also doesn't reconnect consistently when starting the truck back up after a quick stop.

Patiently waiting for v2.0 to drop....

MNSportsman,

Have you tried performing the reset that Shaay had mentioned in an earlier post?

Yes, I've done the reset at least 3x in the past 6 months. Seems to help stability momentarily but ultimately all the issues described in this thread reappear. It's definitely not a long term resolution. Once AA drops, I'll most likely run my music through there as initial reports have been good.

That's pretty clunky, but okay. If Ford designed AppLink in hopes of competing with AA/CP (along with Toyota, read some of the media releases about it) at the very least, the apps should be able to be opened without me having to unlock my phone and open the app. I'll just use BT until CP/AA is available...way more functional than what's provided with AppLink (a waste of Ford's and its customers time).

Then today selected bluetooth phone source again and started Spotify, current track showed playing on both radio screen and phone, but no sound at all. Didn't attempt to disconnect this time due to aggravation so just listened to the radio on my way to work. Hears to hoping these bugs get fixed soon
Yea forgot about that. I experience this as well.

Spotify update came through the other day. Dare I say that so far, it has seemed to fix the skip track function. Lol. We'll see if it continues to work.

Reconnecting after getting back in the truck after any length of time is still hit or miss.

Thanks for the feedback, gopherman!

With my iphone (6s plus) Spotify is unusable via the app. It works fine via bluetooth but when I try to use the app, it seems like Sync 3 and the app lose connection at some point (usually by the first to third song) or (most of the time) when I connect the iphone through USB, the app doesn't even start, even though I launched spotify on my iphone. spotify plays nice with my bmw (via bmw apps) so I believe it's either a sync 3 issue or an integration issue. anyway - very annoying. I hope ford will address this soon, I am happy to help with videos, phone calls or whatever's necessary.

I have some of these same issues with Pandora via the app with my iphone 6s. It drives me crazy. Listening to Pandora. Turn off the truck to go run an errand leaving the phone connected. Get back in. No audio, but the Pandora icon may or may not show. If it shows, press the icon and it may disappear or not, it may play for a second or two and then the source changes to AM. Have to grab the phone and close and restart the app

Yesterday I messed with Sync 3 reset, no change. Hard reset on the iphone, no change. Then I decided to forget the Sync 3 via bluetooth. It repaired and so far today it has been much better, but not perfect. At least the app icon didn't disappear, but I did have to press it in order to start audio again.

Give it a try and see if you have improvement.
