Issues with Sync 3 and Spotify
Hello,
Hating to dredge this back up, but has anyone ever found a fix for this? I've never gotten Sync3 apps to work reliably. I have to keep using the A2DP Bluetooth connection and that barely works at times. I have to unlock my phone and start the app to get it to work at all even though the app is already running. I had a cheap aftermarket Pioneer that did a much better job than this. I have the latest OTA Sync3 update and just got a new Galaxy S8 and it still does the same thing...just like it did with the S5.

I have fought the issue with the steering wheel controls and Pandora forever. It was hit or miss with the on screen controls working. Update to 2.2 did nothing, and Android Auto is still hit or miss also.
However, I did discover the solution to having all of the steering wheel controls and touch screen controls working on Pandora consistently.
1. Start your truck, and allow your phone to connect and pair.
2. Start Pandora on your phone.
3. Once Pandora is open on your phone, go to apps, find new apps, then select Pandora once it pops up on screen.
Works flawlessly for me. Could be the same for Spotify. Hope this helps!

There is another solution that gets the play/pause and skip track button working on the display and steering wheel....
1. Go to Apps, find new apps, then select Pandora
2. In the upper right, select "Menu" then "Exit Pandora"
3. Go back to Apps and select Pandora again....the buttons will now appear and steering wheel controls now work!
Why should we have to do such a process on a $50K truck! I listen to Pandora all the time and this is a real PITA for me. There has to be a permanent fix to this somewhere!!
