You can get compass and turn by turn directions in the instrument cluster 8" screen. I think its under one of the first two tabs, under navigation. Without a destination selected on your Navigation, it just displays the compass; fixed or rotating. Once you put in a destination it will show the turn by turn.

 

Navigation shows on the 8" screen in the center stack. It does not show on instrument cluster behind the steering wheel. Compass directions do show on the instrument cluster.

You lock/unlock the doors using the keypad outside the vehicle.

It's pretty disappointing you can't get the map screen on the instrument panel.

I'm not sure what purpose it serves showing the compass (when you're not using Nav). Sometimes I don't want to use Nav but would still like to learn the city and seeing a map without having to look at the 8" screen would have been nice.
