I see many irresponsible light kits even in my sparse rural area. On a truck they really do a job on the night vision of many drivers thus a serious safety matter.
Not anywhere near the same thing as other truck mods that are harmless to others.
Sounds similar to something I did in my Tacoma. I ran a Apple 20 pin connector from the radio underneath the center console and drilled a small hole where the little phone-holder channel was so I could play my iPod through the radio. This was before Aux jacks and USB ports on vehicles.
Spoilsport speaks: IMO, "WORK" means they light up for far too many people that are out there blinding other drivers with various HL "kits" that make lots of light and not legally aimed either. I also see this with lots of PU's that have both the HL's & the fog lights turned into super bright driving lights that will blind you by themselves.

I did some (lazy style not exhaustive) homework just now and there are ~ 20 models of cars, as of 3/13, with LED HL's. Some are hybrid's with low LED & highbeam other light spources and various this and that elements.
All high end HL's using LED's are projector style it seems.
Lots of reasons given, not all that urge me to own them.
I am still curious how they know they will last longer than the car?
I've only used them a few years on MC's and have thrown away several of the 50,000 hour units... I ask about the wrrty from superbrightleds.com and I had owned them "too long" it seems. I'll stay the skeptic on the life thing for now.
We need a bona fide LED expert to get this going!

If I recall correctly from reading the manual, that key fob "holder" is where you place a new fob to program it to work with your truck. There is a procedure that you follow.
A couple of other nice surprises that I've noticed are as follows - these are on the 8" display in the instrument cluster and may or may not apply to the 4" displays:
When setting the cruise control, the truck shows you the set speed, such as 65.
When you have the navigation screens displayed in the instrument cluster, the display will also show you the speed limit for the road you are on.
Nice touches, these!
