Current SYNC 3 and CarPlay/Android Auto Information
The upgrade is not officially available from Ford to upgrade via WiFi.
Install the new USB after the upgrade but most people say you can install the new USB hub before the upgrade.
Hope this helps.
Have a good day.
For a 2017 this update will do nothing for you that I can see.
So I have a 2017 F150 that has Sync 3 Navi version 2.0 which includes Apple Auto and Apple Car Play. The ford software is horrible and every time I plug my phone in it reacts differently.
For example:
Sometimes it does not even recognize the USB phone plugged in
Sometimes the apps show up and run
Sometimes the apps do not show up
Sometimes they show up and do not run
Ironically if you run just android auto or just car play they work flawlessly.
But if you try to run pandora (or any other app for that matter) under the ford system it is total crap (very inconsistent, mostly not working)
None of it ever works right. it's never Just plug it in and it works.
I have tried both ports and multiple cables including new out of the box apple cables.
So my question is will 2.2 correct any of this? Will I break/void anything with 2.2?
Is anyone else seeing these issues?
My goal is to use the ford Navi with the Ford system with connected apps.

Finally one other question - did anybody happen to bookmark where to download 2.2 and the installation instructions - I know I am being lazy, just trying to prevent looking through 250 pages of threads to find it, thought someone might bookmark it. Thanks!
Been reading through this thread and I am hoping to get two answers short and sweet.
1) Has any Sync3 2.0 or 2.2 update been released yet via OTA? I have a 2016 F150 and have received nothing yet.
2) Is the build that is currently available for download going to be the final version? I really want the 2.2 update and dont want to wait for the OTA, but I also dont want to flash a pre release build if the final OTA will be a newer build.
Thanks

So in a 2017 Truck with Navi - going from 2.0 to 2.2 does nothing? What is the purpose then? What about:
