Current SYNC 3 and CarPlay/Android Auto Information
PM sent. I'll also be hitting up the service center to see about getting a warranty replacement.
So, I'm about to use this truck for target practice. I have a 16 XLT with the Sync 3 system (version 2). Since I bought the truck, no issues. Used a random USB cable I had laying around, plugged in my Samsung Note 5, installed Android Auto, perfect. Well lately it had been having issues, randomly dropping conmection, but I had always been able to get it back. The other day, it completely stopped working. Tried a new cable, nothing. So, since my Note 5 is getting older, I thought, maybe it's the phone. Tried my gf's iPhone 7 Plus, whoch SHOULD just work, without installing an app, but I get nothing. So anyone else have this issue? I want to say the hub is going bad, but the phones will charge. I'm now contemplating buying the upgrade parts to just get the factory nav and not deal with this BS anymore.
1. Tape the microphone to speak to AA, but the music keeps playing
2. Plug in my phone (Samsung S6) and screen on NAV goes blank. Radio still works, so does volume, but screen is blank. Unplug phone, screen remains blank. Truck needs to be restarted to fix.
3. Hang up a phone call, the call freezes. Other functions of the radio still work except for anything to do with calling. Unplug phone, all radio functions work, but cannot make calls using BT on Sync. Restart truck to fix.
4. When AA is on my NAV screen on the contacts list, it blinks every 30 seconds or so, quite annoying to see in your peripheral vision.
5. I LOVE WAZE....it works really well on AA and on the NAV screen.
I'm going in on Wednesday to have my Sync 3 updated by the dealership.

I got Apple Carplay thanks to all here!
One question I have though is if I have my phone plugged in, can I not listen to Sirius Radio? I tried to have the map on and then went into Sync to listen to Sirius but it kept switching back to Spotify. I just want to have Sirius radio playing while Apple Carplay is running. Is that possible?

Did you exit Spotify before you switch audio sources back to XM radio?
I've seen a few instances where something like Waze will grab the audio focus from the over the air radio I'm listening to. I'd expect a person to have issues if they leave some app running on the phone that would be producing audio..

Go into settings on Sync3 screen and look for AA, then tap and make sure AA is enabled.

Can someone please help me? I have a 2016 Lariat with sync 3 v1.0. Have tried updating to 2.2 numerous times. Have download the file from the ford website onto by USB and every time i plug it into my car, i get "Installation failed:The installation has run out of space or does not work with this version." I have tried a master reset and reformatting my usb with no luck. However, when I unplug the USB it does say installation paused. Does anyone know a fix to this? Thanks
