Hey all, what size are the bolts to take off under the rubber? I am moving and have a lot of stuff packed so I don't want to pull apart different boxes to get the right size tool.

Okay, well no answers. So it was a size 6 socket that did the trick. @15k miles, no smoking, once or twice someone with a vape was in the truck, but that's it.

I think they are removed with a 6mm socket, but I don't remember for sure.

Default After Market Cabin Filter Part #

I was at auto zone last night and I did not see any of these in the book.

I know we can order them online, but I wanted to buy one locally and just put it in.

What are the after market parts (STP, etc) for Cabin air filter

Motorcraft FP79 (#fl3z19n619a) Rockauto $11.38

Amazon.com: Motorcraft FP79 Cabin Air Filter: Automotive Amazon.com: Motorcraft FP79 Cabin Air Filter: Automotive

Hastings Filters afc1057 looks like a more durable replacement, but probably not needed.

damnit why does this truck have to be such a PITA

the plat. have "wood" trim that doesn't come out like the rest of the trucks, any idea how to get that trim up, i've already started cracking it by prying from the bottom.

$30 to $90 for that piece....ugh

ok, i got it, i had to stick my hand up the left side of the big opening and push the wood trim paneling tab out. once i got that out, i could stick a skinny screw driver under the trim and pop it out. not for the faint of heart on a $90 piece of trim

see the sqaurish hole in the upper left

also i ordered from rockauto and they had 2 parts, 1 was motorcraft part some other made by hastings. the hastings piece did not fit

what a PITA, seems like the car was designed by engineers vs designers, that why you have to take the car apart unlike my last honda. which was relatively easy compared to this car.

btw, 18,000mi, no smoking whatsoever and window down driving from time to time.

I got a set similar to this. The curved end helped get under that wood trim piece!

Default 2015 Cabin Filter Trouble

So, i tried to save myself some money but I got a lot of aggravation.

Taking out the cabin filter and putting in the new one was smooth, but I could not for the life of me snap the cover back over it securely.

I dropped the glove box by pushing in the two soft round circles and then the box just drops down straight to the floor.

I tried for 40 minutes to get the cover securely on.

Please tell me i'm doing something wrong here..
