Was it easy to replace the cabin filter? I am wanting to change mine since I have had my dogs in the truck with me for trips.

It was pretty much like the video in this thread:

However, with the Platinum, the rubber trim piece above the upper glovebox is different, and you have to pry out the wood trim, that is blocking the screws to remove the upper glovebox.

Never doing it before, it took me about 30 minutes.

How often should/do you replace the cabin filter?

I just posted a thread showing my old filter. It was due to be replaced after a year / 19K miles.

The maximum time, for me, is 3 months. During pollen season, I change it every month.

Typically, it should be changed at least twice a year.

How are the push-tabs holding up on the wood trim, and upper glovebox?

For me, it's miles. I changed it at 5,000 which was about 8 months. It was dirty but not disgusting. I'll continue to change it at 5,000 but could probably go a bit longer.

Your environment could certainly make a difference on how long your intervals are. Mine is the dry and a bit dusty. No smoking. Pollen is not much an issue.

I was going to ask how much the environment plays a factor into changing the filter. I live in a desert climate area so we get our fair share of wind and dust. I had it a little less than a year so I guess its time to at least check it and see if its time to change.
Thanks!

After the first time changing the filter, and chipping that $80 wood trim, I decided to modify the top shelf to avoid having to take things apart every again. Took longer to post all the pics than it did to actually modify the part and put everything back together.

Here's my modification thread, including instructions for removing all the pieces.

That top shelf is only $35 to replace if ever needed....
