Cabin Air Filter
I looked for a filter with carbon to decrease the exterior odor. Especially smoke from burning leaves and fumes. OEM is just a regular nice pleated filter but no carbon for odor absorbent. Couldn't find a replacement either. So I just put an OEM in.
15 months and 27,xxx miles before I changed mine. Didn't snap a picture of it but it was plenty dirty!
Will change more often now after seeing how dirty the filter was. Just use the OEM filter. It works.

My niece just bought a 2007 Ford Edge. She stopped to show me it. I went to the glove box, dropped the door, popped out the cabin air filter. It actually had leaves sticking out of every groove/flap/pleat of the filter...my F150 filter look new compared to hers. I'm guessing it had never been changed..LOL.
Picked up a new filter and went to change it today. 26k miles and mine still looked brand new. There were a few very small pieces of debris. It was still bright white. Left it in there and buttoned it back up.
I will have to agree that there is a serious design flaw with getting to it. It's not at all hard, but I bet the clips will get brittle and break.
