APIM Module replacement?
For replacement used APIMs forum member oscarsierra has been a good reliable source. Before I knew about oscarsierra I bought my nav-apim from this eBay seller:

He is out of SoCal and I picked it up in person after buying it and chatted with him. He works for a company that ships Raptors to overseas buyers. Before shipping they remove the N.A. apim and put a country appropriate one in and he sells the N.A. apims on eBay.

I'll post a pic when it gets here which should be tuesday. I used the seller posted in this thread a few people seemed to have luck with. I gave the guy my VIN to program it so we will see. Hope it works out if not I have ebay and PP to go back on to return it. Going by the youtube video posted it seems like a pretty easy straight forward install so I should be able to pop it in the same day.

APIM showed up today and I swapped it in which took all of 20 minutes. Score everything works, I now have bluetooth and navigation once again and the unit came updated with v3.2. It did not have the sticker on it with the model # etc. Good seller on ebay I will be leaving very positive feedback.
FYI I also got a ELM327 cable and downloaded FORscan to check the DTC before I swapped it out. I had the U3000 code for the APIM internal failure so I am 99% certain that was the issue. Interestingly enough I also got some codes for the FMIC which I think may be unrelated. I had an issue with the AC and climate control stopped working. I did a hard reset and the next it was fine and has been ever since.

Took my 2017 in because display screens was frozen, suspected APIM was problem from researching forum. Service advisor confirmed but said Ford required they do a diagnostic test to confirm before they could order. Problem confirmed and APIM ordered specific to VIN. 5 days later it arrived but according to service tech was a different part number than he ordered. He called Ford and they said APIM would work! You guessed it, nothing worked, in fact now my A/C controls and seat controls all flash like a Christmas Tree and then all come on at the same time. AGAIN they need authorization to order new APIM so now it’s been 3 weeks since i first took truck in and still waiting for part plus now this new problem which I suspect is related. Only good news is I have extended warranty..
Replacing my early 2016 APIM with a 2018-2019 and the 1st, the only person I thought of was @lucas8888. Anyone that knows me knows I dont endorse or recommend lightly. Reputations and knowledge matter.

Well they still have my truck, going over a month. They have put in 3 different APIM moduals and none will work. Tech has been on phone with Ford Hot Line 4 times with additional download instructions and still nothing. Won’t give me a rental either and can’t take issue to another dealer. I opened a complaint case with Ford Customer relations, they are on top of it but I just want it fixed, starting to forget what’ my truck looks like

well they still can’t download updates etc. to any of the APIM modules they got in, 3 now. Finally gave me a rental truck yesterday and a Ford Engineer is on his way to take over. They estimate 2 to 4 days so we will see.
