After reviewing that procedure came to conclusion unfortunately that's way above my "pay grade". I'll just have to do with a backup camera and that's it!

SYNC 2.3 is available from Ford. Will I have to update the Camera module as well to be compatible with the Ford update?

I sent an email to my contact to see about compatibility with the new module, now that Sync 3 v.2.3 is officially dropped.

Yes I did...I also sent a text. The camera source reply (a few minutes ago) they said as long as Ford does the update. If I do on my own I risk turning the interface into a paperweight!

If you have the 250-8453 module, it is valid for Sync3 v2.2 & v2.3.

Essentially, If you are currently running v.2.2 and your Rostra module works, you are good to go with the official v.2.3 update from Ford.

If you are running v.2.1 or lower and have a Rostra module, the v.2.3 will not work with your hardware module.

Correct. I had mine auto-update overnight to 2.3 from a 2.0. All of my cameras quit working as a result. I contacted my reseller, ACDC Mobile and they were able to get Rostra to warranty a replacement to a 250-8453 instead of the 250-8452 I currently have.
I am very appreciative of ACDC in coordinating the replacement, but it is frustrating that Ford made a decision to have the ability to update the Sync system overnight without me knowing. I know you can check a box that stops updates, but in my case the battery was just replaced and somehow the box default is set to download updates automatically. This obviously rendered the Rostra unit into a paperweight.
It sounds like it will be a couple weeks until i get my replacement since it has to travel back to ACDC first. Oh well. I am hopeful that I will be back to normal shortly.

It will update even if the truck is off?...I thought the truck had to be on!
