Quick question on the front camera to XLT mod. I've done the wiring to add the OEM front camera to my 302a XLT that already had the rear camera and ptba. I've not done the side cameras, just the front. So, front camera wiring is done.

And, I've tried to search this thread and have read Livinitup's spreadsheet, but I'm still not clear on the APIM FORSCAN edits that need to be done to enable the front camera function. Anyone have a quick list of the APIM changes to just enable the front camera and keep the rear with PTBA? Thanks

 

Just looked on my owner.ford.com page and don't see an update to 3.0. Is the update for particular year models? Officially posted from Ford or in the wild?

 

If you have added the OEM front camera, it is:

APIM 7D0-01-02 xxxx xx*x xxxx
Front Camera: 0=not available, 1=available

 

Sync 3 v3.0 isn't official yet, although 2.3 is, and was confirmed to work with the latest Rostra camera module.

The 3.0 going around was shared by some members on here. Several have downloaded it and updated by using a USB drive. It is not confirmed to work with this module yet.

From what I've heard, 3.0 is currently installed on several different Ford models to test the Sync Connect system compatibility. It was compiled into an install-able version and shared by these testers. It spread like wildfire from there. Much about it here:

its coming out on the 18 Navigator and Explorer, they're using it to test the 4G LTE wifi fordpass thing. It is not available for download other than in PTS/OASIS. If you still want it send me an email.

 

It ended up taking me a little more than just enabling the front camera in the APIM, to get my OEM front camera running. Here are my FORSCAN changes....

My starting point was a 2016 302A XLT that came with a rear camera and Pro Trailer Backup Assist. After swapping the IPMB to one with a C2512b connector for the front camera, adding the 360 switch, and doing my wiring changes, I made these edits with FORSCAN.

Changed IPMB:
7B1-01-01 from my as-built 7C20-1218-20A0 to 7E23-1618-20A9
(per Livinitup for 2016 Platinum with 360 camera)

Changed APIM to:
Enable Front Camera - 7D0-01-02 XXXX-XX1X-XXXX
Enable split view - 7D0-02-01 XXXX-XXXX-FXXX
Enable 360 switch - 7D0-02-02 XXXX-X7XX-XXXX

I guess my question would be what all would be needed if I don’t have pro trailer but I have a lariat 502A. I just want front cam and rear without having this Rosta system.

 

Are there any detailed instructions for adding front cam to Lariat with 502A and pro trailer? I only want the front camera and don't care about 360 views....

 

I am looking for information on how the front camera plugs into screen on 2015 lariat . I want to see about replacing front camera with a new camera because my front grille guard blocks the camera . I wanted to see if i could just purchase a new camera with universal mount for the grille guard and then unplug factory camera and plug this one in leaving all the factory equipment so if sold i could put back to factory .
