I have a SCT Livewire tuner that has an input for rear camera. Anyone know of a way to make it work for a front camera instead. I assume it's triggered to come on when Truck is put into reverse via OBD 2 plug so that would have to be changed.

Interesting... I wonder how it works, cant seem to find videos of it in action. Its certainly priced in the same range as lockpick. Could be a good alternative.

If one replaces a factory camera with the same do the guidance lines disappear until a 'calibration" is performed?

I have the brandmotion backup camera and noticed it looks to have dual inputs for front and back camera. This is the 4.2 inch screen. I was going to see if it would work out and picked a 10$ camera from ebay. I also picked this up too in case it does not work with the brandmotion setup:

We have an interface that will allow up to 4 total cameras into the 8" screens (this would include your factory rear cam if equipped) for $309. We can bundle this interface with a grille emblem camera (2013-14 F150) for an additional $259, or flush mount camera (2015-16 F150 and 2013-16 Super Duty models) for an additional $149. We can also set you up with side cameras that will complement this system perfectly, $168 additional for 2 cameras.

We can even custom produce an OEM style front camera for those who like the look of the OEM front camera (2015-16 F150 only). However, this would require you to change your front grille because the factory camera bracket mounts directly under the Oval in the OEM grille, which has an indent for the camera mount. Non-camera grille models don't have it and it won't fit.

Here's how the camera triggering works:

Front cam: front cam will come on automatically when you shift from reverse into neutral or drive for 30 seconds, or until the vehicle travels faster than 7mph. You can manually override this by pressing the power button on the radio. This feature can also be disabled completely and use only manual activation using the radio power button.

Rear cam: comes on in reverse automatically, otherwise press and hold radio power button for 2 seconds.

Side cams: comes on with the turn signals.

This system will also work with Explorer, CMAX, Edge, Escape, Taurus, Transit, Fusion, Focus, Flex and Fiesta.

Please call for your kit to be customized and complete pricing!

A poster earlier in this thread mentioned that he never got a camera to properly work with the lockpick on Sync 2/MFT. Has this been fixed?

Also, I want to use the OEM camera as it has better resolution than most aftermarket, and no aftermarket camera mounts in the OEM location (under the grill emblem). Does your interface work with the OEM camera?

I dont want a flush mount or the grill mount camera you offer because it does not mount on the OEM location and I dont want to drill a hole in a $400 grill. I have an OEM grill with the hole for the OEM camera (and its mounts and harness, etc). But since you mentioned you can fashion a camera to mimic the OEM, I am greatly interested.

Can you post the link to your product? I'd like to see what I'm dealing with.

Appreciate you chiming in.

I have checked out your products on your website. I already have the 8" MFT/Sync 2 with OEM backup camera. I am looking at your front/side camera package, part number CS-FTRSM270-MYTA. Does this package work in the manner you described above? And, also as the previous poster has mentioned are all the bugs worked out of the Lockpick II?

This kit shows as on backorder. When do you expect more stock?

The Lockpicks can be finicky but for the most part the MyTouch II is pretty reliable. The Mytouch air is no longer available so anything on our site that ends in a MYTA on the part number is no longer available. The MYT versions of all those part numbers are available but have some limitations if you want side cameras and front camera (it can't do both).

That being said we have the alternate interface because some people do not want Lockpick and/or need front and side camera inputs. In addition, if you have a 2016 you cannot use Lockpick because it's incompatible.

The front camera that I'm speaking of customizing for you is not on our site but here is a picture of a sample that we punched out a while back. It's the OEM bracket with our highest grade Super CMOS front camera so the picture quality is excellent. We sell the same camera in an emblem housing for $289 ($259 for forum members) but we'll build one in the 2015 OEM bracket for $199, which will terminate in RCA for easy connection into a Lockpick or our multi-cam interface.

Just give a call and we can get you setup. We would provide the finished product because our tech's have to install the camera into the mount for proper alignment. This setup is by far the best but we don't do many just because it requires a grille replacement. Since you already have the grille you're ready to rock!

Thanks!
