In other news, I talked to my distributor of the Rostra unit yesterday and he said the engineers told him to expect a firmware update by the end of this week. Finally!
...and i will try to get pics tonight. I was watching playoff basketball streamed live from Dishanywhere to my screen and the quality really impressed me. I also just moved to a S8 phone and I am not sure if the display adapter works with the iPhone. I will do a bit of research and let you know.

Sorry for posting 3 in a row...but apparently the iPhone will not work with the Microsoft wireless display adapter. You can always plug a apple tv in there and airplay it..but it may be an issue with turning on/off all the time.

I work for schools and we need a device that would allow wireless display/sound for student presentations. Looking at different devices that will work with iOS, Windows and Android. Will post results.

Would be an option like the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter but not just supporting WiDi.

Thank you very much!

I spoke to a representative from Ford yesterday concerning my sync3, I wanted to know when I could expect to have 2.2 installed in my vehicle. The representative promised me she would call me back within an hour, well it's been almost 24 still no return call! I would rather have it done before I do the camera Update.

This is illustrated on page 36 of TexasFording's fine manual (thanks very much for writing that btw).
I'm thinking of drilling a small hole and sealing it but the new cameras have a large (3/8 in diameter or so) ballast on the wire, so it would have to be a bigger hole than I'd care to drill.

SO, has anybody else had trouble with this?

@CameraSource - can I cut the wire from the camera and splice it? that way I could just do a small 1/8 hole and feed the wire through and rtv it to keep water out.

thanks
john
You can use an agled dremel and make the hole or the notch as jdroller mentioned. DO NOT CUT the harness, you cannot splice it back on. It wont work, I did the same and Chris was gracious enough to send me a replacement harness.

Yep, same here. I broke the connector on the end trying to pull it through the firewall. He sent me a new harness also. I've had great service and support from Camera-Source. I know you guys with the Sync 3 issues are anxious to get it right, but they will take care of it.

Hey TF, hadn't seen you around here in a while.

Been around, mostly lurking and following a couple of threads, this one and the one from Luke about his factory retrofit.

I really like the Rostra solution, has lots of potential but of course issues. Hope they get it sorted out soon.

This was posted by tmcolegr I wonder if it's the problem & not Rostra?

Default SYNC 3 - Intermittent Blank Screen ***SSM 46570***
SSM 46570 - 2016-2017 Various Ford And Lincoln - SYNC 3 - Intermittent Blank Screen - Software Update

Some 2016-2017 Ford/Lincoln vehicles SYNC 3 may exhibit an intermittent blank screen. Check for SYNC software update under the OASIS Tab SYNC selection. If update is available refer to WSM, Section 415-00 and update APIM software. During the update process the SYNC status bar shows Updating System Software for approximately 30 minutes. After Installation Complete pop-up appears, remove USB flash drive and install into IDS tool to update Ford database. Perform a complete ignition cycle by turning the key off for 5 minutes which is critical for a successful installation. If no updates available refer to WSM for normal diagnosis or SYNC 3 intermittent blank screen GSB for tips.-->tmcolegr Thread

I sent the SSM notice to Rostra's engineer and awaiting word. Nothing new at this time.
