We had to switch hardware vendors to resolve the navigation drift issue and the Rostra interface has some great features. However, it's also $225 more (if you buy with our cameras). So if you have sync 3 navigation then the kit is going to cost you a couple hundred more than the original system. The question is whether or not the extra features justifies the cost and that decision is up to you. Our original interface box retails at $309 independently and the Rostra is $629 (this is without any cameras). We discount it significantly when you buy it with our cameras so it's $693 including our front surface mount camera.

CAMERA DISPLAY
For any one who has received the new Rostra interface from Camera-source.com:
Have you figured out where to put all the new pieces? I think the module will fit right behind the CD Player and used the double-sided velcro to adhere to the plastic air vent. This would allow for the white modular connections to point up and you could connect the HDMI cable and Video input/output from the APIM before seating into place.
Just curious if you have thought about where to put the external HDMI and USB interfaces, as well as the manual front camera activation button.
I have the entire dash pulled apart as I type. I know... bad planning. Just a visual person and wanted to get eyes on.
Thanks for any help.

jdroller,
I haven't opened the dash up so let me know if mounting behind the cd player works. I thought about putting the HDMI / USB ports in the top slot of the glove box but I don't think there's quite enough room behind it for the length of the plug. I'm at a loss on this as well and might just let them hang unmounted but within arms reach. There's an open area to the right of the accelerator that I might just drape them behind. I honestly don't see myself using the HDMI video display feature much.
How are you going to power the cameras? The old kit had dedicated power and ground connections coming from the module but this one doesn't really. There's a wire labeled 12v for the front camera trigger switch that I think I might try splitting to feed all the cameras. Let me know what you end up doing.

Have ya found a good location for the switch, HDMI & USB?
Any tips welcome, tomorrow (3-2-17) is installation day??

I purchased and installed your front/side camera system back in December. I have Sync 2, so I do not have the Nav issue. However, I am still having an issue with only able to manually bring up the front camera, but cycle to rear and no display. Like HuskerHarley, I too would like to have the ability to have the side cameras in the cycle as well. I was under the impression that this system had that ability when I purchased, but later discovered it was a typo of some sort which caused the confusion, if I recall.
Is this new Rostra interface compatible with Sync 2 also?
HuskerHarley,
According to the product manual, the trigger switch is for the front camera only. Apparently you can use it to activate the front camera at any time if you really need to use it above the ~10mph cutoff speed. It'd be awesome if it would manually cycle through all cameras including the side ones but I don't think that's how its going to work.
My install isn't until next week so please keep us updated on the results and on where you end up putting the HDMI / USB ports.

Button is to activate front camera. Instructions then say you can touch the APIM screen and select a different camera.
I placed the HDMI and USB interfaces on the passenger side of the center console on the silver trim that runs from the HVAC vent to the floor. Mine are below the top line of the console. Will try and post pics this weekend.
I have to pull the dash apart again this weekend. My Rostra interface module is not showing up in the APIM Apps screen. USB will charge a device so I know it has power. Perhaps something pulled lose when reassembling. Was a late night when I finished and did not have time to troubleshoot.
I placed the front activation button on the driver knee panel just below the push to start button.
