as long as the heated seat coil is true 12v and the fcim doesn’t drop the voltage down, if so you would need to use resistors to get proper voltage

Oh, so the question had nothing to do with either bezel, it was about taping into the seat heater wiring, at the FCIM (or under the seat, would probably make more sense imo). That's not at all what was typed, confusing.

This was discussed earlier in this thread at length I believe. It's a matter of wring them in series apparently, as they are different resistance than aftermarket seat heaters, half the resistance, supposedly, with an extra wire for temp sensing as well. Aftermarket seat heaters (upper back and lower seat - 2 elements), are generally wired in parallel.

The seat heaters are 6VDC wired in series. The wiring diagram is about 1 week back in this same thread.

So I added climate menu using Forscan on my 2019 RCSB XLT

I want to make use of auto climate, and I've found part numbers to 2 bezels that I believe will work, but I need clarification on which one to go with.

Now my truck doesn't have heated seats or rear defrost, so I went with those options when looking at bezels (basically I don't want buttons that don't work on my bezel).

However, one has dual zone control, while the other states it's manual ac.

I've been told dual climate won't work on a RCSB (which is fine) but would auto climate still work on the manual AC bezel?

I'm thinking I would need the dual AC bezel (without the heated seat/rear defrost buttons) in order for auto climate to work. But I've never seen a manual AC bezel with the **** on the left that says auto.

Also, the specific part is discontinued, so I guess I'll have to search wreckers?

GL3Z18842AAB (dual zone AC without heated seats, without rear defrost).

GL3Z18842BUA (manual AC without heated seats, without rear defrost).

Any help would be appreciated

the auto climate controls are in lariat and up. So you will have buttons that are not used. I believe they all come with at least heated seats. And correct the dual will not work. Now if you want to get fancy I’m selling a set up that has controls out of a platinum which will work. (My trucks a xlt) along with a dash kit and a iPad mini for 500. With this kit it hides almost all the buttons.

Thanks for the offer, but that's too fancy for me lol

Getting back to what you said about auto climate being lariat or above, I understand that, however here's what confuses me.

This part number: GL3Z18842AAB

https://www.oemfordpart.com/oem-part...0wbC12OC1mbGV4

It specifically says 2018-2020 dual/Auto climate without heated seats or rear defrost.

XLT's don't have auto climate, and even the base 501a Lariat has heated seats.

My question is, where does this bezel originally come from???

I've googled it, and can't find an actual picture of it anywhere. But it exists in fords database.

I’m sorry I’m lost there as well that is weird that it say for the higher up models but not have heated seats.

I want to get to the bottom of this lol

Like I said, I have a RCSB XLT without heated seats or rear defrost.

If I can find this bezel it will give me auto climate without triggering my OCD.

Should I make a thread and ask the forum for help locating the origins of this part?

I'm extremely interested now lol

If the small heated seat buttons trigger your OCD, the huge DUAL **** on the right that every passenger will be trying to adjust, should really set it off.

I just picked up a 19' Superduty Diesel XLT SYNC 3, with Trailer cam package no heated seats. I want to update the Auto Climate control
I've just read all pages of this forum, and my issue is finding any Bezel's let alone one with the correct top buttons. They all seem to be discontinued.
Any suggestions?

Thx
