Sorry for the late response everybody. I took personal time away from everything over the holidays to get my head straight.

As an update, I did order new boards to fix the issues I made on the originals. I’m hoping they will be here sometime next week.

Help me understand a few things... 1) if I swap out me bezel for a lariat one... what will the DUAL **** on the right do? 2) will the new bezel give me the backlit halos around the *****?

Right **** controls passenger side temp which does not exist.

Yes ***** are lit rings.

Fan speed moves down between heat/cooled seat buttons.

So the things that will not work in my case (xlt302a) are dual(the right side ****) and cooled seat buttons. Heated seat will work once this awesome module is deployed?

The ***** on the FCIM in question are for dual zone climate control meaning diver can have 1 temp and passenger can have a different temp.

It involves additional sensors (6 i believe) as well as a different duct system and this part not sure of yet but have heard heater core swap as well.

So essentially if you do not already have dual zone (and if you do not already have the FCIM with right and left temp *****, you do not) the right button attempts to control I believe vent actuators (which do not exist) while referencing temp sensors (which also do not exist)

Right side button looks pretty, moved numbers on your SYNC screen, maybe the color circle but really does nothing more than that.

I could be wrong but from what I have read if you already have heated AND cooled seats the Lariat dual zone FCIM may actually operate your heated seats as well.

The reason it does not work for many of us is it is trying to communicate to a DSM (driver seat module) to turn on or off the heated seats..... for many of us like me who have only heated seats the DSM does not exist. If you have OEM heated and cooled seats you may have a DSM and the FCIM may work for you without the mod.

I was looking at adding a DSM to mine to see what happens but have not yet been able to verify if the harness installed to my seat is the correct one to support a DSM (knowing my luck, probably not) I also want my cooled seats back I had in the Lincoln I traded for this f150.... but I may be looking at replacing the harness to the seat to do that with swapping out seats from salvage for same reason listed above about DSM.

Never really thought I would ever give a damn about heated or cooled seats until I had them! Honestly though the cooled seats are of more value to me but having heated seats I do use them.

The main reason many want this is the temp control is displayed on the SYNC screen and not only that it is displayed as the temp. easier to set it at 72(or whatever) than spin our type of dial back and forth until it feels like what we want.

***** also are backlit and have shiny chrome on them adding to aesthetics I suppose.

correct. Technically I could make something to add cooled seats, if for say, you bought the Katzkins setups, but that would have to be a mod also. The dual climate control is impossible to do without swapping out the whole dash with a lariat harness and ducting.

i have been very happy to find that the typical modern mentality of people only being out for themselves is not present here, you guys all have fun and help each other whenever possible, so if i can support that and help your process with my skills in any way i am happy to do so, just let me know
I’m just quoting the original comment because there have been a few. Thank you for offering your services. I will let you know if there is any tasks I can pass along. I will be providing everything open-source and having people testing and looking at the code will probably be the most help. I will provide more information once I get the next sets of boards.

There are probably a handful of us that can provide assistance if needed. my background is engineering as well but in the IT realm.... some of it translates over but never really got into coding. testing circuits, handy with a voltmeter, soldering etc.... but limp through coding.

Alright Fiasco... I'm in. Put me down for one of your "hot modules" (figured I would give it an appropriate name). Time to go looking for a fcim.
