Default Quiet time lol

If anyone has the wiring diagrams or can direct me to the wiring diagrams for the related circuits and seats, I’m going to start investigating doing a separate switch in case we don’t hear back......2018+ wiring only pls

Default Another idea

Hi all,

Just joined to get in on this conversation. I've got a 2017 Superduty XLT so same cab and interior as the 150. I've just installed a lariat bezel and same results with no heated seats. My question is, could we just swap the seat base from a lariat or above and would the heated seats then work? I've seen a few comments that the controller is in the seat on 17 and above? would the wiring harness be the same? I have a line on a full lariat interior for a good price but want to figure this out before I do it. Thanks!

I went this route using a seat controller that will work with the updated FCIM. Harness in truck does not match so upgrading seat bottom will produce same result. I have not yet had time to look into replacing harness yet but is a possibility. Been traveling way too much but with all the corona's floating around travel is coming to a halt so maybe soon will have time.

Default In theory you should be able to splice?

Are you saying the seat controller doesn’t plug into the truck harness as well? Or just that the seat doesn’t plug into the controller?

If it’s the former, that’s tough, if it’s the latter, that should be pretty easy with a wiring diagram and some crimp connectors.

floor harness did not match up, stopped there, didn't check seat connection. yet anyway.

I'd heard that if you used the auto FCIM that you could still activate the heated seats using the on screen controls with SYNC 3, but unfortunately not the case. using the buttons activates the same heat setting on the screen, and adjusting either affect the other (change it on the screen, the button changes too).. seems like the system is pretty well integrated if it affects that much already. the only thing not happening is the seat heat getting triggered. Feels like the solution is in the dash somewhere... anyone want to volunteer their lariat for me to so some exploratory surgery?

my understanding the different seat module/FCIM combo's produce different signal generations for heated seat activation. so XLT FCIM/seat module combo works together as does the LARAIT FCIM/seat combo but are not interchangeable. I believe that is what was being worked on previously in the post through either adding a circuit or modifying the existing circuit.

I am still going to try and get my modules working but still need to see if seat connections plug into module first. If not then may look into swapping connector if possible.

Default Xlt to platinum

I have been on this mission for the past 2 months. I have an 18 xlt which had a 4" screen with sync and backup camera. I started by doing the console swap and then decided I wanted a platinum interior. Got the interior in and installed. Seats moved after some wiring and I was happy. Then I wanted more. So I got.the wiring diagrams for everything, started repinning harnesses adding harnesses and routing wires to their modules. I had the phoenix android stereo installed so I contacted them and made sure I could upgrade to sync 3 after I converted. Called a yard in florida to purchase a gen 4 apim non nav programmed to a platinum vin. Purchased the conversion Harness from an ebay seller and bought an 8" screen to accommodate my bezel I purchased awhile back for the auto climate controls. Got everything in hooked up and installed. After hrs of headaches I finally got everything programmed in forscan to where the only DTC I have is related to losing communication with park assist module a. My seats massagers work just like they should from sync3 controls or side controls. However I cannot seem to get them to heat or cool. My module list is not showing dsm or dcsm I am showing the scmg and scmh. The as built from the donor truck for the seats show a dsm and dcsm. I dont know what else to do from this point. I removed the modules under the seat and am fixing to try to add them as new hardware soon. Meanwhile during all of this i am dealing with locating a parasitic drain after the recent install of a 8" lcd cluster. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Oh yea I just removed the auto ac because I was tired of the way it heated up so quickly if you moved anything from the most coldest setting. It would read 63° and be blistering hot. It had to go. So i installed my phoenix android radio with everything. Just no heat or cooled seats yet.
