From what I understand you will see the generic build date, that you see right now in ETIS, change to the actual build date upon the completion of your build. That is another way to see a small status change outside of having access to COTUS.

For COTUS, I'm in the same boat with ya. I don't have access to COTUS and my dealer well, I don't even know what to say about my dealer. Maybe this will illustrate things better...

(Now keep in mind my truck was built and showed up in ETIS on 10/21 and I'm about 6 hours from DB and Ford Service gave me an approximate ETA of 11/1.)

I tried getting a status update from the dealer on Sunday. What I got was, "...well your truck has been scheduled so that's good. We can't tell you when it will get into production or if it is in production, but it has been scheduled. Once it gets built, we still won't really know when it will arrive, because Ford likes to sit on them for a couple weeks when it is the first run of a model year. I'd say you can expect your truck sometime around Thanksgiving or the first week of December. When it shows up we'll give you a call."

So given the fact the my truck has already been built and my dealer is either playing dumb, either way my level of confidence in their ability to keep me in the loop is nonexistent.

As for a 10/26 build... congrats on that. Once it is built the real waiting begins.

What I want to know is just how many of you have already started buying stuff for your truck even though you don't have it yet? Anyone else out there "planning ahead"?

Yeah, frankly, I've been wondering about yours. As at least in this thread we're the only ones who have trucks built at the moment. A lot more after today since everyone else seemed to be on 10/26. I've been reasoning out what the deal with some of this is and hoping that they were "holding" trucks for an end of the month shipping for arrival at the end of this week. This based on appointments at my dealer for 2016 F-150 test drives that were available at the end of this week. Might be a faulty basis upon which to make an assumption on shipping, but it's just about the only info I have. If you hear something I'd definitely appreciate a heads up.

Not a bad thought. I've gone as far as checking the dealer page (it shows vehicles/VINs for its incoming stock trucks) to see how many had similar build dates, assuming they were trying to fill a transporter before shipping mine. I am clearly not good at waiting

 

I'm OK with the waiting. Ambiguity mixed in with the waiting... not so much.
