I would stick with your original plan of whichever comes in first. There is no reason to be concerned with the 10/26 truck, as has been documented here and elsewhere many times, it happens far more than people realize. My problem has never been with the hold itself but rather the length of time and the no answer/ accountability aspect.


And there is no guarantee of delivery on the other truck. We know better than most that dates come and go....

 

That's the dilemma. There is no guarantee that there will not be delays with #2 and if they would sell #1 in the meantime I'm screwed. Doubt the dealership would order a #3!

There are warrantees for this reason, right??

 

Is COTUS working for you guys?

My dad ordered a 16' about a week ago and i can't get the site to work. I even tried tracking ones with vins already for dealers website but no luck. It was nice to track mine being built last year and was hoping to do it again for him.

 

No COTUS for any '16 orders.

Ya, pretty much what most of us been doing. There is a US and Canadian Rep which is cool.

 

I try to ask Chad once a week then confirm detail with dealer. They have agreed through the process.

 

My dealer is worthless, they claim the GM is the only person that really knows how to search builds, so I am extremely happy we have Chad!

 

Truck is in transit, build of 10/26. ETA is 12/19-25. Wonder what the hold up was, I've heard two totally different things on why they were put on hold. Either seat issues or tailgate issues, who knows!

 

I think if it were me I'd wait till #1 shows up and check status on #2 and make a decision at that point. For me though not knowing the hold up for #1 is pretty dissuading and I would probably abandon that and just wait a few more weeks till #2 comes in.....just for the peace of mind. I mean what are the chances #2 gets delayed as well?!?! But on the other hand I'd be soooo ready to just be done and get the dang thing already, and you have a point about the warranties.

Either way, I'm glad it's looking like you will have a truck soon. You're gonna love it.
