If they fail to deliver it's not there fault, it's the factory what I'm saying is the whole process from dealer to factory is rigged. When you walk in a car dealer and buy a car I don't care how good of a deal you may think you got, they made money on you or they won't sell the car, they also know if they don't sell to you they will to someone else. When we have a situation like ours it's out of the dealers hands and the factory should and should have handled this better, like tell us what is going on and how long for delays and most important, take care of the special order trucks first after all we are the true Ford customers they should respect. So after all the delays and bad feelings Ford should offer us some compensation, but they don't they just say do you want it or not, if you don't we will sell it to someone else for the same full price. One final thought, how do you think this would have turn out if this situation was made more public like the 6:00 news?
And really, if you feel so aggrieved, you should walk away. However what you seem to be really asking for was for the dealer to further discount it as a result of Ford's behavior. So, which is it? What is the price on your grievance? And if the dealer can sell it to someone else it is simple economics and following the laws of supply and demand. It always amazes me how many people here sign up for a deal and then want to renegotiate the terms at delivery. Can you imagine the outpouring of grievances if the dealer did the same thing???
If I haven't said this before I will say it now, they should see special orders as a priority, we are the ones waiting for our trucks. The dealers can wait as they get trucks and cars regularly. I hope your not going to say their system can't do this function, this is 2015 and they are a multi million dollar Co. I think they choose not to, maybe because it's just not that important to them and as I said before they will still sell cars and trucks with or without us special order people.
would probably raise a big yawn if it made the 6.00 news. Just needs more cheese

so let me see if I have got this right. You want to place a special order, probably at invoice less holdback less $$ so the dealer has nothing left in it apart from a volume adder, then you want delivery of this to be prioritized over other dealer ordered stock that he may be able to make some money off.... right.....

I even had a private cash offer in hand that would have been valid and sweetened the deal if the truck were delivered when they said it would be.
Now it is Ford and/or the dealer (we really don't know the cause of the delay) changing the terms of the deal and saying truck will NOT be here until mid Jan even though it was built end of Oct., even though we previously informed you otherwise. Further, it is Ford who will not disclose any reason for such delay. A contract has to have consideration on both sides, not just the buyers. The buyer has a reasonable expectation that they can rely on the information supplied by the seller about the product... Such as when that product will be available.
What is debatable is the harm done by this detrimental reliance and what, if anything, is owed to the buyer. I always have the right to walk away. (However, some dealers are at least telling people they will not get their deposit back.)
While your statements about supply and demand are true, any company that treats customers in that manner will likely see the supply / demand curve change to negatively effect them if there is competition in the market.
I can't speak for all but for me even an explanation and an apology would go a long way toward keeping me happy. A reinstatement of the lost incentive money would turn me from an unhappy customer to an advocate.
