A bit more legwork but you knew that going in, right?

I glossed over that part when they said I'd have to take it one way to NV, I'd figured it was one of those things they tell you to do that you sorta nod and say OK.

All in all I learned something and it's really not that big a deal other than I have to wait a couple extra days....days I have to work and wouldn't even drive it anyway. So I'm not complaining too loud....

Picked my rig up today. The daytime pic was from before it was washed.

Built on Nov 9th in Dearborn.
Delivered Nov 24th to Seattle via Rail.
MSRP (after tech discount etc.): 62,405
My Price: 50,065

And I got $200 more than the Edmunds Fair Market Value for my trade. Pinch me!

Tomorrow the BAK Revolver X2 goes on!

Went to dealer today to look it over and do all the paperwork. I bought in CA and will register in NV. Never knew that would be a big deal on delivery. Basically I either need to go to DMV and get a one way permit to drive it home or have the dealer deliver it NV. Fuggin Red Tape BS if you ask me. So I made other plans to get it and now will wait....grrrr. Does this even make sense???

Either way I'll be taking delivery Tuesday.

No, it is a bit more complex than that. Unless you have it delivered (or trailered) into NV, you have to pay CA sales tax on it which is greater than NV sales tax. When you register in NV you will get credit for it (but not any refund) so you dont pay it twice. If you have a trade it is even more important NOT to take delivery in CA as, unlike NV, CA charges tax on the full amount, not just the difference between your trade and the new one. Normally up dont get the Certificate of origin till a few weeks later so while you can register it in NV, you dont get a title till you go in with the CoE later. (I found this out when I was getting ready to trade my last vehicle and discovered i didn't have a title although i had the CoE)

Late availability option vehicles stay in "order processing" status for months perhaps until they are scheduled to be built. That delays the VIN from being created. I ordered Heavy Duty Payload package 2015 on 3/15; order was cancelled by Ford as not able to be built. Re-ordered a '16 9/3 and it is again "late availability."

Doooood.....you got the deal of the century for sure. How the heck???? That dealer most certainly took a loss on that sale, unless you had a bunch of the $1,000 certificates and other discounts. Jeez. I paid way more for my Lariat and I thought I did fair to OK sorta kinda OK.

How did you manage a deal that sweet???

Yeah, it's kind of a long story. Got about 2k under invoice when I first placed the factory order, then got them to knock another $5k off when the Friends and Neighbors promotion started--they had advertised a huge discount on another '16 Platinum, and I used that as leverage to get them to almost match it.

Still not sure how or why they went so low. No other dealers in this area could come anywhere close.

By the end of the deal, they couldn't get me out the door fast enough. I've never gone from the finance guy's desk to on the road so quickly!

Thumbs down

Well...here we go again. I have been a patient, loyal Ford F150 owner with my last 5 new trucks being F150's. Ordered a 2015 KR last summer only to have it arrive at the local railhead, 35 miles away from my local dealer and there it sit month after month with a "hold" status...Met with the dealer and they ordered me a new 16 KR in mid September, however due to a paperwork snafu it didn't get entered till mid October, got a VIN several weeks ago with a build date of November 16...I stopped by dealer today for an update (COTUS of course is down more than up, Viagra maybe?) and found my new 16 KR order has been rescheduled for week of January 25th! WTH Ford? Anyone in Ford management care to chime in?

I have ordered a 16 KR 3.5 sb 4by. Thanks in advance. Cheers
I ordered a 16 SCREW Lariat 502A with no late availability options and received my VIN from dealer about 10 days after order was placed.

Sounds to me like "A bird in hand....". No one really knows how much profit the dealers really make, but if I were to guess I'd say their actual cost is 20- 25% below MSRP. How many dealers really want a 60+k truck sitting on their lot for months on end.
