The 97-98 is a bit different. See the plug going into the large connector on the top. This is totally different from the Navigator steering wheel. The 99 and up will fit the plugs.
Thank yall for the well wishes. It won't be getting here until tonight and tomorrow morning, peaking around 9 am and again around 7pm. I'll let yall know how it goes.
Ok here is picture of the wheel and one of the connectors. I was sure I posted this up earlier in the thread, but wasn't going to go all the way back to find it. LOL
Note the different white connector for the newer style clockspring, which has audio control capabilities.
Went down to the yard this morning.... right when I got in the parking lot, my Brother texted me. SOB'n brake line (that I tried to replace last weekend for him) burst on his Escape. By the time I got back to SLC, the yard was only open for another hour.... and I need more time to play than that, LOL. So, I am going to have to go Tuesday or Wednesday now.
I see it, - Ford connectors swap out easy, I use different connectors all the time because of this. If it's a blade change, that's different. Then you swap pigtails. That's easy as well with the right toys. I went with a different blade stye and connector type on all my injectors when I rebuilt the engine harness. The new connectors won't break (weather pack) and stepped up the wire 2 sizes as well. Did a ton of harness work in the 98. The original harness didn't age well lol. You can also buy ford blades and the correct crimper for them. Takes a little practice with the B crimper though lol.
Anyway, if that helps any or if you have any questions.....
Besides the mismatch dilemma, are you attempting to make the Nav wheel fully functional ?

Just got in from getting my Escape winter ready. I've got to say, that thing is so simple to work on. The fuel filter clips come out with a flathead screwdriver, and slide right off. I dumped the fuel out of the filter, and look at this racket.
Then this gasket for the oil cooler started leaking. Are these gaskets on the F150 rubber coated metal too?
Need to get some brake cleaner to complete the job. Everything got a little oil on it.
LOL, wasn't anything I did. It was what I didn't do. I put pads, rotors, and a wheel bearing on it, and noticed it was cracked. Was going to go get a hose at Autozone... But.... I'll just say "girl problems" prevented it from happening last Saturday.
I just ordered all 4 hoses for mine for 29 dollars through Rock Auto.
