Brew do you ever get tired of beating dead horses? LOL every time I jump out of my subd threads and venture into the 97-03 threads.... I find myself just annoyed at some of the sheer ignorance running around

Yes, that last one was a perfect example. Seriously lacking, too much to right....bail.
There's plenty more, I know what your saying. Hell, we all try to help, at first anyway. Whether it lasts or not depends on the person and how much research was actually done. Heightened lack of research lately...the equivalent of ignorance lol.
White, meant to ask, what is that foamy substance on the top of the cam cover ? What's going on there as well ? You say you need CC gaskets, -they look good. Like I said, carbon below the cover is normal, as well as the head gaskets...same thing happens. Unless you cleaned the heads up or something. It's what's going on above the cam cover gask that's curious. What is that crap?
I'll check out the PCV, Brew. It's been about a year since I checked it.... but, really only about 5,000 miles. Got a brand new PCV and pipe assembly out in the shop. Thanks for the tip. The eye does have me a little discouraged.... but I know it's going to be a bit still. Today is a week out of surgery, and it's been the best day yet. Thanks for the words of encouragement!
Wow, it's been a long day. I've started a course on coding with C#, and spent about my whole day on that. I didn't realize all of the FREE stuff Microsoft will let you download and produce programs with. Visual Studio 2017 is pretty bad-a. You can produce Android and Apple apps with it as well. Also will let you code with Python. Anyway... if any of you are interested in playing around with it, I can point you in the direction, LOL.
Yeah... I agree, lots and lots of BS threads lately. I love the guy that came crawling back after he told us all that we didn't know what we were talking about. Then there's the "I better start a new thread and rephrase my question because my last thread didn't get anyone to justify my thinking" kid.
I think I've mentioned this before, but I watch and follow Brian (FordTechMakuloco) on FB and Youtube. He posted this TRUTH today. I preach this all the time. Everyone always asks me why my vehicles always give me minimal issues, and this right here is why. Proper maintenance at its finest.
He also revealed one of the best kept secrets about re-programing Ford PATS PCM's. First I've seen. What was hearsay for many years, he brought it out not too long ago. You see that one, think he posted last fall, Ford may have knocked it down. Cool dude, one of a kind.
