I would think it would depend heavily on the control- when and how much boost/ speed- it would have to take in rpms, ground speed- engine and ambient temps- that would make a plug and play almost impossible- but it might be able to be engineered in- dunno- just mental fat to chew on, i guess.

So... first day driving the Yaris to work. I got on I-80 and got her up to speed, and I went to set the cruise control. &#*@&^! No cruise control. This is the first vehicle I've ever owned with no cruise.

I can feel some upgrades coming on this car already, lol.

As in it didnt come equipped with cruise control?

Weird......the Toyota site says this.....
The Yaris range comes with Cruise Control as standard. Cruise Control technology is designed to help make driving on long journeys a breeze.

doesnt toyota use a little stick for cruise rather than buttons?

Yes they do. As luck would have it, it looks like a fairly simple install.... since it is drive-by-wire. I've got to buy the actual cruise control stick, and 3 wires to plug into the ECU, etc.

LOL... was it standard in 2007? I sure don't see it anywhere.

All 2007 Yaris models typically include the following standard features.*
Air Conditioning Alloy Wheels AM/FM Stereo Auxiliary Audio Input CD Audio Cloth Seats Manual Transmission Overhead Airbags Power Locks Power Mirrors Power Windows Rear Defroster Rear Spoiler Side Airbags-------------no mention of cruise control in 07.
