No,AK, we thank you for starting this thread- we started sharing thoughts on a truck, since then we have shared many facets of our lives and come to know each other better and, i think, become friends who've never met.
I dont see an end even when lil red is finished, this has become an e-destination point for me almost daily. You can bet, if i hit the super lotto, we would have a great get together!!
Again, thank you AK!!

I'll agree with RCs post above

I'm pretty new here (& in the world of F150s) but have thoroughly enjoyed reading all of the posts in this thread and getting to (virtually) know people

Hopefully there is a few more years of banter in it yet...

I'll give you some advice on the escape white. If you go the pull the cv axle route loosen the front engine mount and put a jack at the front right corner of the engine. It was the only way my brother in law was able to get it out for me. I couldn't move it. The alternator rolled over a couple times. There is a welded bolt for the CV axle that's in the way of "easily" removing it. I had considered drilling it out but wasn't sure if that was wise.

This applies to the 01-12ish I think so if it's newer just ignore.

I was driving lil Red today and turned on the navigation part of the new radio for the first time. I was really pleased to find that It was spot on for location and the GPS speedometer was also perfect. Rather happy with the outcome of this head. WITH ONE EXCEPTION: the damn thing, the second you go 1mph over the speed limit tells you that you are speeding. Then at 5mph over it does it again. This part is irritating as hell. I've got to get into the setting and turn that part off. Damn thing wouldn't quit going off all day long. 1 lousy mph over, it screams at you. At least it works correctly.

Reminds me of Toyota Camry taxi cabs in the UAE. 1 mile over 55 and the beep constantly. Cabbies don't care, they are so used to it they tune it out. Passengers are irritated as all get out!
