I'd like to point out.... someone put black RTV all over this thing. That is the same type of reusable gasket found on 4R70W's. No dang RTV needed.... LOL

No...that's nothing.

Came across this in docs , notes this morn noobs

Gen 10's excluding anything aftermarket.

With battery saver 300ma or less is average. However , Ford spec - 500ma or lower is considered normal.

Battery saver/all relays de-energize after about 2 hrs...usually not more than 50 ma. Ford spec - 75ma or less is considered normal..

Your plenty good i think.

Comment please;
When.my mechanic replaced a leaky oil filter housing, some mi or pitting was seen on it and the engine. It used a similar gasket, but he added some grey RTV to the pitting, but not really allowing it any set time. In this case, more RTV would have pleased me, whereas normally "extra" would not.

Yes, clutch material in there is inevitable.... acceptable unless it smells burnt.

This actually doesn't smell bad, just really dirty.

DJ, some info on the 10R solenoid operation in Gears magazine, if you're interested in knowing more.

That is not the case here, Bill. Nothing wrong with the pan or trans case. Just someone that was an "over achiever".

Yes, I get that. But in the case of some pitting, that is more then minor but not horrendous, (and maybe consider.whar pressure is on an oil.filter housing perimeter, ???) should the grey RTV have been t da more then to fill.the pits?.AND allowed to.skim, or to set?

I'm an.old Permatex #2 guy. GREAT stuff with some thickness and viscosity, which dries but never fully hardens. But the nuance of RTV in any imperfect situation, such as I mention, with a similar ribbed gasket, is not a tool in my bag. Trying to learn and improve, always.

So let grey RTV dry fully in semi-minor pits, or to skim, I don't see a skim as any benefit,) or no drying at all. In MY mind, dry, then, add some to compensate for shrinkage as it dries in the pitting. RTV does shrink a bit, yes? But 10% or what amount, I am not sure. Best guesses accepted. TIA.

Down in the chemo rabbit hole for a week-10 days. Likely read, but no long posts. No experience with pitting where gaskets go. Permatex #2 and cardboard gaskets did everything in my day that did not call for the thinner Permatex and maybe a copper gasket.
