Alts are an easy change out and are 60 at my local yard for them to pull it. I would rather change one of them any day over chasing down a wiring problem. Those things make me lose my mind. Lol

Things just got really real over here....I just signed the papers to sell my house. Open house this Saturday. I am absolutely scared poopless. I need perfect timing to occur here, lol. I need to find a house quick. I guarantee mine will be gone in under 5 days.

Whitey....you better get your butt out looking if you are going to list yours. No time for a dragging fanny. LOL. I know you are actively searching. I just have to give you some crap for the "poopless" reference. ROFL

JP....have you ever ventured out to one of your local bone yards lately? I was wondering if you'd keep me in your list, if you should go out to one. White tried, but didn't have what I needed in the plugs. I sure appreciate it if you do go, if you keep me in mind. Cheers!

Yeah, I bet we've looked at a dozen houses now. Just can't seem to find the right fit. My aunt and uncle just put there's up for sale.... it is in the area we want, so I looked at their listing. LOL - they are asking $477,000 for it. Nope.

Have you tried using car-part to find salvage parts or you needing something really odd/specific?

Thanks Fordguy....I do use Carpart or Hollander or go to my Ford parts books, but this is a discontinued, interior plug for the door handle access, on only 97-98 F series. I've even asked a couple of my Ford dealer friends, in the lower 48, but none of them have dug them up either. I did Ford parts/warranty, so I still have some good connections, just not for these simple plugs. They are just a 3 eared push in shaped plug. If you don't have them, you have a extremely ugly hole in the middle of the panel. lol

I thought I posted this yesterday, but must of jettisoned it when I changed sites.

Yesterday I went to move lil Red, and it didn't move. I thought the new trans took a dump. I checked the fluid, nice clear, no smell, maybe a bit low. I filled it to the line. I tried to move it again, but had to go all the way to 1 to get it to engage in D.

I crawled under the dash to check the 2 30 torx screws. Tight and seated. I threw down my floor pad and went under. The linkage was attached fine at the clip. I went back a bit and found the retainer spot for the cable. It had the insert popping out. I stuck it back in and tried the linkage. It worked some but still not right.

Whatever the installer did, wasn't right on the cable. I may have to go get another cable and replace the new one he had to install when they lost the cable retainer clip. It just doesn't pay to have other people do your work.
