They were all bought at the same time, however two were warrantied for this... The other two are in very usable condition. Just not going to get traction in the snow like the newbies.

Maximum effort goes toward 4(-5) tire purchases, & I think it's a requirement for free rotations. But sometimes a tire is road-hazarded out. The rt fnt (FWD or not,) wears most in US driving and you want the new one there, & the shop says they can't. Otherwise, yes to replacing 4 at a time.

Hate hybrids w NO spare at all. You are locked into cell-range driving & roadside assistance union contracts. 'Frisco one recent night had NO AAA assistance after midnight due to no contract. Crazy. You could hire anyone else, if you are not a broke vet, and eventually get back maybe 80-120 of the 2-300 you spent. I cannot even stop and help some old buddy or young mom with a baby if they have no spare. I even greatly dislike space-savers, but it's a bandage at least.

In the summer, I don't give two eff's about front, back, whatever. Nobody will ever tell me that my chances of going up a slick snowy hill with brand new tires on the rear (FWD) are better than 70% tread up front. If this was an AWD/4X4, then yes, I agree with them being on the rear.

Actually, I'm betting that if it WERE an AWD, I could've made the case for them replacing all 4 under warranty.

My Brother's M3 didn't have a spare either, Bill. I was in the back seat on the way home from the races.... I heard a "pffffffffffffffffttttttt", and I told him that I think he lost a tire. We stopped, and sure enough, it was flat. I said "let's get the spare out". LOL, nope. We had to call a tow truck.

EDIT: It was a pretty fun little car. Pretty expensive to fix though.

Tow trucks, since COVID, don't want to let you ride with. No matter WHAT I tell them, they send a regular truck, then call the shop for a flatbed. Each time, except once(!) the wait is a long one for each truck. NO spare ruins any reliability and self-reliance. EDIT: So you also need to get a resistant lift or Uber to come.

Next is jumper cables or a fancy micro-battery. Then maybe comes an empty gas can. Reported a mini-cooper w engine freshly afire, last weekend & called it in. Realized, wife's car has no extinguisher. Think my trk has 2. On the spot we cuda saved his car. The engine fire was v new and still tiny. Bet it's 95% toast. Looked new and shiny. And 100 ft of GP 3/8-1/2" GP rope from your box store.

According to the radar, you should be done with it soon. I've got a couple more hours. It's like a cold, weak hurricane with all the rain.

Luckily, this was way before Covid. Probably 2008 based off the fact the Winco we stopped in front of was still under construction. It opened in early 2009.

They probably think engine oil should be changed every 3kmi, too.
