Thinking
My folks watched Alaskan races on/about 1950-51ish.
Week back, someone wanted a phone under $800. I said mine's a DooGee V31GT, IP69k, no typo, Mil 810 monster. 10800ma bat. Camera need stated but no question & I didn't wanna kick a dying horse, but last hrs of a sale. $535, - 10%, Klarma easy-do financing options... some interest-free. 50 meg main camera. Night vision, FLIR. Dual sim or sim & mem. Lotta ram + dynamic & 256G. I have no connection to them.

PS, I use Metro/T-Mobile, unlocked, multi-national. Not ok w ATT or Version.

Good ole days ehh, There's still quite a few places over there you can't get by car, -Dutch Harbor, Kodiak, Bethel, Nome, Barrow... Sitka...etc.
They know how to have a good time in that state. In the summer at Glacier View , think it 's around July 4th they have a annual car cliff launch every year. Alaskans are fun...well, most of them are anyway.
Hah, yep here's the car launch lol
Ahh crap, - if you hit the you tube link it'll play.

AT&T ripped me off via cell bills a cpl times, way back, & costly. Kept chg'g my acct limits. I relied on it, went way past my reasonable limit and unknowingly over used it, versus they had reined me in. Their new unstated generously cuz I was responsible, screwed my whole budget, which was tight back then. But locally, we all must take what's best for us... Especially rurally where competition is low. But 4-6 line family plans, $25 per line. Beat that w a stick ! My "Ghettro" is not so bad, esp as now it is virtually, T-Mobile, which has a similar plan. And both use a slower 5G, but their lower, high-frequency, penetrates much better. Version's 5G might be fastest. So what -
I had their Olympic (candy bar) analog phone. Good in them thar hills. Dumped it 3 stories, then a cu yd of of bricks onto it from that height. Kept on ticking. Then everything went to digital heck.
Doogee might have an AT&T ph. All seems rugged. Others have FLIR too. Big batteries. Good cameras. I liked my S96Pro, but no FLIR & way poor night vision compared to this V31GT which impresses. Would probably prefer Samsung, except not rugged, no FLIR, no night, teensy batteries. Ok if you can open & swap, but then, not water resistant much less U-W Videos. Just been getting spammed about their recent sales since I bought mine and one for my son & it's both hit the lowest point & ends in hours. LOVE the mil-spec ruggedness. Have & don't need 5GHz or 60-90-120Hz (switchable.)
BTW, I set all ph Battery Savers at 35%. Phones transmit unreliably starting at ~15%, & on an older tired battery that percentage can be reported in error, be virtually non-existent. 35% gives a useful warning window... Not that I bump it with this 10800ma. Delightful. 66w charge, or 20w(?) if wireless. 66w gives 80%/1 hr. Shazzam!
Tho' typically I Chg from an iGen200 at 15-20w. If any pwr out, I still get a Full Chg by wakeup time. iGen also powers my wifi router. USUALLY wifi is available, just router has no house power. Router wants 11w. iGen 200 has 194 wHrs. Almost 20 hrs, aside from phone drain due to battery size. Can be $120-200. Eyes Open! (iGen 160 almost same price - not worth it.)
Back to trux 'n trix.

Not sure what was more hilariousness, the quagga muscles comment or Merlin slowly sliding his seat belt on when they got pulled over....
