I went over today to look at the aftermath at the dealer. I got there just before the last of the first responders left. There was a lot of plumbing parts from the yellow Super Duty that flipped over.

A couple commercial grade valves on the ground there.

Didn't read back that far to see what happened yet, but if the truck was loaded with stuff like that it was most likley heavy.

It was a gravel truck.... he lost his brakes. The Escape at 31 seconds is my neighbors... 2 houses in between us.

Wow....Truckers nightmare. Gravel Trains in MI are legal at 80,000 ton (164,000 lbs max) and run 65mph on the e-way. Kiss it good-by with no brakes at those speeds, try not to take anyone with yuh. Terrible situation. That driver handled it well imo...could of been many times worse.

Actually though it was going to be much worse when you posted,,,,says 37 dead at the bottom. Glad that wasn't the case.

I often evaluate what a flat would do to me on a particular curve at speed. V sobering. Maybe he was an active thinker; not yet jaded. So dodgeball actually had worth. Who knew?

Yep, he chose to use the vehicles with no people in them to end the craziness. Didn't really have anywhere else less populated. Quick thinking non the less.
