Looks like a spanish thing. I'll pass.

I've got sucked into a few episodes on the YT channel "Law & Crime Network". We live among lunatics.

That makes the $550 or so I'm getting ready to spend on a new dishwasher seem rather petty. The current one still works fine, but it's probably original to the house (22 years old), the racks are starting to rusti/break, and it's beginning to get louder again while running. I replaced something in the lower washer arm assy a few years ago, but the noise is returning. I guess I'd rather do it now than wait and have it go TU unexpectedly. (Or start to leak, or something else.)

It's only money, right?

I could be spending a lot more, but it's a freakin' dishwasher. I don't need 37 wash modes, Bluetooth, Wifi, and Google voice control. This one seems like a pretty good "bang-for-the-buck" deal and has decent reviews. I'll get a "combo" discount (they'll give me $100 to buy a $70 appliance cleaner kit), snag some Rakuten bucks, and get free delivery and in-kitchen unpack, but I'll give them $20 back for haul-away of the old one. Picking up a new braided supply line, too. I don't think I want to press my luck re-using one that's 20+ years old.

As long as it has a TV in the door. 🙄
I was surprised 30 yrs ago to learn that SS does not mean rustproof. Only some SS is. At the time, Bosche was SS and had the best rustfree warrantee of 5 yrs. Live 'n learn. Or one I like, "Ignorance abounds." Except, that time it was me, learning. SS rusts?!? Wow. Yup.

Oh, and SS fridges? ~"Do not clean the SS exterior of your new fridge w anything rough, such as a paper towel!" What?!? Yup. Shammys etc

I was leaning toward a Bosch unit, but their least expensive model was $100 more than this one, and a lot of reviews seemed to complain about the dishes coming out wet, even after two dry cycles.

One of the things I like about this Maytag is the front-facing digital display. (I'd prefer if the display panel was black, but oh, well.) Maybe I'm weird. Top control DW's seem to be popular, but I don't mind the buttons being visible, and I like the idea of a display that shows me the status and how much time is left rather than just a light that shines on the floor to indicate that it's running. Another point - trivial, perhaps - is you don't have to open the door to start (or stop) the thing.

Maytag was great. NO idea, now. I put one in for some folks. It was flawed. The "we'll come to you" had a 25 mi limit...!!! But repairmen were every 80 miles, and we were in sillycom valley. I felt bad for the customer. Nice old folks. I think it had bad louvers. They could have mailed us the 1 lb part. Turned me off. I prefer to do my own DW installs so *I* tighten the SS braided hose. Also I caulk ALL around so any leak comes out into the kitchen and is seen, and is not discovered 3 weeks or months later while it's been seeping under cabinets. It they happen to be modern particle boards, not good at all. I do the same under kitchen sink cabinets. Clear, but paintable caulk.

I had new tires installed today by Discount in the parking lot at work. Pretty sweet way to get through that ordeal.
