Been needing a better compressor than the POS compressor Ron has from HF. It bit us on the latest rebuild when doing a leak test. It ran out low on air, and we couldn't hear a bleed out in the drum. It takes 7 or 8 minutes to fill. Can't have a damn conversation next to it either.

I was just at HD and saw this little feller. 100 bucks, and lifetime warranty? Hell yeah.

I lean towards the $150, 6 gal Porter Cable pancakes. Soilless, which make them slightly more versatile.

I looked into this a bit after I got it home and opened it. For the price, it fairs very well. The DeWalt they had at HD like this was double the price. I'm not using it for anything but air testing transmissions, and maybe an occasional tire pump. My Campbell will dust this thing with air tools.

EDIT: A quick little trivia for you. The drive in theater at the beginning of this "short film" is right down the road from me. Kinda forgot about that.

They've changed the sign a bit though.... that pic was in the late 80's, as I recall.

Picked up the Porter Cable the last two times I needed a Pancake. Only because they had had the 3 nail guns with it. No deals from them. Actually Rigid is running the same old deal Porter Cable use to run. At the depot.. Always like the the way Rigid stands behind their products....their batteries are also guaranteed for life.

The Porter cable has a pretty bad design flaw, they still last quite awhile for being cheaply made. I mean as cheap as you can go lol.

Boy that link you posted has no business judging compressors.... man are they in the dark lol.

Wish this thing was a little lighter...you can't even hear this one run unless you're right next to it. Can't carrier it around..think it's a little 400 lbs. Those little pancakes are handy.

It'll get it's first workout tonight. I actually may have gone with the Husky "quiet" compressor, had HD had them in stock. That's pretty intriguing to me. But, this is mostly just to air/bleed test transmissions.

I saw my first bleed-down yesterday, which diagnosed headgasket, faulty between cyls 3&4 on an old MG- B. I recall making portable tanks from freon cans, and a product test on 6" Dia PVC, which swelled at 500 psi & blew at 600. I wouldn't mind carrying a little air.

Should of coughed up another 60 and taken advantage of the nail gun deal. You get 3 guns for 60 or 75 bucks. Shoot the 2.5" gun regularly goes for 100 bucks by itself. It's a steal for all 3 with the purchase of a compressor. That's when you purchase a compressor. You still had time to capitalize when I first mentioned it. You still might with Home Depot.

Well, you can always use that thing as a construction cone if you get a flat tire.
