Thinking
Would a head gasket deteriorate on a 4.6 F150, if let's say it's driven off/on a lot, or left a few times in it's existence parked in storage for 8 months (un started) ?
Does the head gasket need that constant heat from the engine to keep if from cracking and drying out ?

If you watched Matt's video yesterday, you saw that there was a pending collab with Heavy D Sparks. Well... little did I know this has already happened. This is an hour long though, so I'll have to watch it later.
Exactly...and the heads as they're prone to warp. I'd say there's one about every 2 months in this forum. A lot of those threads aren't titled correctly, probably why you don't notice them so much.
There's a thread going on currently that might be a candidate.

Should hydrocarbon test to rule it out ^^^.
Overheat them once, could be all she wrote. Then your sort screwed if you can't do the work yourself...might as well throw a reman/good used in vs repair, as the cost is close to the same, once you consider what else has been hurt.

I know on the S-series saturns the head gaskets didn't take kindly to overheating as well. My parents never had that issue with our 94 but we also didn't let that motor get hot
Those two are a couple of numb nuts. That shouldn't have happened. "The accelerator is stuck, and I smell brakes, but lets just keep driving".
