Strange on the base Phil. Wouldn't of thought clear would make that much of a transformation. Base even looked kind of spotty. Sure turned out good in the end.
I think my funny vibration may have fixed itself. At least at idle, I don't feel it anymore. I think I may have either a) caught the engine or the exhaust on a rock enough to yank it out of place, but not to actually break anything or leave a dent, or b) gotten some mud lodged in a place where it hardened, and then eventually crumbled. I can't prove either of things, because I couldn't find any mud or dents (or even scrapes), but I'll take it.
I'll know it self-cured for sure whenever I get on some open highway again.
