No but I don't think they are. The pedal was midway through the stroke after adjustment, now it's back to the floor and barely holding just a week later. The adjusters are backing themselves off somehow.

i have a really dumb question only because i have done this, did you put them on the wrong side so when they adjust they are backing them off

Well I didn't but the PO, who installed new shoes for the sale, may have. The star wheels are not in line with the oval openings on the backing plate - they are off to the side by a good margin. If they're supposed to line up with the holes, I bet that's exactly what's going on here!

yep, they are supposed to line up with the openings in the backing plate

just make sure they are oriented the right way and are marked L and R on the proper sides

Ah, OK. That's also a V8, right? My Buddy has a 95 or 96 Cruiser. Sounds pretty mean. Only thing I can't understand is why Toyota used a timing belt on those.
