AK to the lower 48 about $15. or so. I've sent a load of parts south over the past 3 years to guys who can't find things locally.

Today I managed to put on the Gibson exhaust system on lil Red. It is so quiet now, I'm almost disappointed. Once you rev it up, it brings back the sound. I can sure hear the exhaust leak where they cut the pipe to get the transmission out. It goes back next week and he's going to reweld the joints. That should make it as quiet as possible overall. I like the ease of the install, but not 100% sold on how they go over the rear axle. I'm more upset that I am having a hard time getting the spare tire back in the cradle. Oh well, there is always tomorrow for that one item. lol (Procrastinate much???).

Yea, just fixed the same sort of leak in the crossover. It rusted there and split in two. My system in completely welded 100%. How I did that was with shoulder formed stainless steel band clamps. I tried many exhaust set ups for the best low end power, the clamps made it possible since they didn't damage the piping. Once I got that figured out, I used the clamps to precisely locate the weld points and turns so there wasn't any stress on exhaust components what so ever. Once marked, I took the Y down and welded it solid. Anyway, I had a bunch of band clamps left over. They are very strong, you can butt up two sections of exhaust and use one of these clamps to hold it together. So that's what used to fix the crossover last week. Checked for leakage w/compressed air, -not even a little. Great little invention whoever thought of them.

I used the band clamps on my Mustang when I added the dual exhaust. Talk about a nice item to work with. Those band clamps are the cats meow.

I've got a couple Walker Mega Clamps waiting for when I finally get the time to put mine on. With the side exit exhaust, it's going to be a bit tricky.

Here is a couple pictures of the system on the truck. I'm sorry, but I'm not climbing under it again tonight so these will have to suffice for now. The clamps will all be taken off when it goes in for the weld up on the pipe. For now, they are just clamped.

Back when I did it the Walker clamps were too narrow and didn't do me any good, they sucked lol. But maybe they're better now or at least wide enough to achieve a good hold and actually seal.
